Background:

What were most likely renewals, spotted in February 2024:

2 months later, a new trademark for a ‘Tonverk’ from ELEKTRON MUSIC MACHINES INC. (US) was discovered on 15/04/2024:

TONVERK - Elektron Music Machines Inc. Trademark Registration

What is currently known:

• A European trademark filing has also been found and linked to the US one. The trademark descriptions do not specifically point to whether Tonverk is referencing hardware or software.

• Elektron has been recruiting Rust developers for a Linux platform over the last 2-3 years for what has been speculated to be an entirely new product line.

• According to Cuckoo, Digitakt II appears to be the first instrument built on this new platform.

Possible meanings behind Tonverk:

Ton = Tone
Verk = Work
Tonverk = Musical Score (direct translation from Swedish)
Tonwerk = Tone Factory (in another interpretation)

Does this mean a new product is confirmed?

No. Elektron has had other trademarks in the past like ‘Digistrike’ & ‘Soundwave’ that have not materialized into consumer products.

Hm, could this also be them renewing old trademarks for existing machines, bags, cables and software? Or are these definitely new?

I think the ‘Elektron’ trademark should have been renewed already in 2023. That being said, the second trademark for ‘E’ seems to refer to the stylized logo. Maybe a refresh.

It’s a new machine called Death Cloud. It modulates weather pattens in stereo (suck it Digitakt). You can store things in the Death Cloud, like ambitions, but you may never get them back. Overbridge is a breeze with this one as well.
