And if I may, at some point a USB hub might reveal useful
Hello Elektronauts : )
I will update my new Octarack MK2 from OS 1.30 to 1.30B.
But before i update i better want to ask the Forum:
Are there any problems with the new OS 1.30B?
Or can i install the new OS 1.30B without any doubts?
(And is it worth to Upadate now?)
Thank you very much and have a nice day!
Best regards,
Alex : )
Hi Alex,
thereāll always be issues, but the general consensus seems to be that upgrading from 1.30 to 1.30B does more good than harm. If you havenāt run into issues with 1.30 and you have a gig coming up, maybe itās not a good idea to upgrade just now, but I probably donāt need to tell you thatā¦
And good practice is creating a new blank project and save it, to avoid corrupting anything.
Hi Hans
Thank you! More good than harm sounds good!
I`ve searched in this forum and didnt find some specific post to this.
Best regards,
Alex : )
Just upgradedā¦ Shouldāve read the instructions firstā¦ Goodbye CF card and projects!!
What happened?
Upgraded to 1.30 and suddenly my CF card and projects got wiped.
My fault for not backing it up though. Oh well.
I got 3 boxes connected by midi after my OT. No problem at all after upgrading the OS. Check your cables, your channels, etc. I think itās not a issue with the new OS.
If itās any consolation, this is odd and may not even be connected to the upgrade. Sometimes the directory structure on flash cards can get inconsistent with the actual data still intact. Maybe run a google search for ācompact flash file recovery utilityā and you might just be able to get back what you lost. After that make sure to take regular backups in case itās the card thatās starting to lose it. Good luck!
Oh, thatās sad. Did you eject the OT on the PC before the upgrade?
Thanks iāll look into it!!
I donāt think I didā¦
This naut had her folder structure change when upgrading and moved things around and got it working again:
Did @snugglybunhead confirmed it to you in secret?
I didnāt loose anything during upgrade. How can it happen if you donāt format the card?
Yes, it worked for herā¦
Ahh Ok! Thanks everyone, I found it! Somehow I changed to a different Set and everything is back there now.
As the āScale Setupā text is in RED, it is a function, accessible whilst holding down the function button.
It is not the label of the button itself, but the secondary function of it.
The same way that the record button is not the ācopy buttonā, and the play button is not the āclear buttonā. Copy and clear are functions.
The Front Panel Layout diagram in the manual designates the button in question with 1:2, 2:4, 3:4, 4:4 text above it as the āPattern Pageā button. Page 1, 2, 3, 4ā¦
I hope that this explains the nomenclature.
I see your point, Adam and itās a good one.
I somehow missed that it actually does say on the front panel layout section of the manual that Button #26 is the PATTERN PAGE button, even if the MkI does not actually have the matching label on the chassis. Some buttons have dual labels (red and non-red) and some donāt, but Iām not going to berate Elektron for that.
Not trying to make a point of it, and I hope I donāt come off that way.
Just trying to explain why it is the way it is, and hopefully help with understanding as the OT, dusty, well-worn, or fresh, can be a head scratcher at times!
