A feature, I’d suggest. Benefit being extra flexibility/hand and patterns !

I tried to latch the fill mode as described, but nothing happens. Moving the data entry knob D has no effect either.

have you set TRCs normally and used them normally
the latch should just make holding that page button down easier
pay special attention to hold, hold until release
must try again in case it’s changed, but it was fairly easy iirc

You’re evidently not even using TRCs at all
You need to Hold a trig down in step mode, then p-lock a TRC condition to that step (if you Press trig and tap encoder D down it will lock a Fill condition)
Try using those first, then test latching mode

Meanwhile I figured it out. It differs from your instructions.
- I chose the step where the fill should happen. Next I activated record and held down the step again which allowed me to change parameters on the trig page.
