How old are you and where are you from?

[quote=““Hans Olo””]
40, living in Germany. Started my muscial socialisation with Level 42, The Smiths, The Cure, moved on to Ska, Reggae and Northern Soul. Got into Rare Groove/Acid Jazz/MPB in the early 90s and expanded my musical universe in the direction of House and Hip Hop (Gang Starr, Pete Rock & CL Smooth). Collected Mo’ Wax 12"s for a while and discovered Soma Records when they released the 1st Daft Punk Album. Listened to a lot of french stuff (Etienne de Crecy, Demon, Alex Gopher). Carl Craigs “More songs about food and revolutionary art” and “Bug in the bassbin” pushed me in the direction of Detroit Techno, started digging for the stuff that influenced it and fell in love with Göttsching’s E2-E4. International Pony brought me to DJ Koze and Erobique. Frequently check out Souljazz Records compilations and Druffalo Hit Squad mixes (Druffalo - Druffmix). Admire Move D (he used to DJ a lot near where I live) and Gerd Janson. Like what KiNK does live. Can’t go wrong with Stefan Goldmann/Finn Johannsen. Keep getting back to Stereolab and cheesy 70s cop show Soundtracks. Have and will always hate U2.

What was the question again?!

Very nice. I love all of both those bands catalogs!

56, originally from Portsmouth UK, been living in Sofia, Bulgaria for the past 15 years.

I grew up on Bowie, Smiths, Cure, Joy Division.

Moved to London and caught the “Summer of Love” and the Rave scene full on, I don’t think my brain went back together properly after all those pills.

I’ll listen to almost anything now, as long as its not modern jazz, or country!

Really enjoy dubby ambient techno and a good spliff.

I’ve done a few bits and bobs on Si Begg and Kid606’s labels and I love anything from old Metalheadz D&B through to oddball techno like Vessel etc.

I currently have a massive soft spot for cheesy house & bass like Flava D / DJ Q / Squire of Gothos etc but my tastes change every month

It’s most likely because much younger people typically don’t have the kind of money needed to buy any Elektron machine…

Hi there,
wherever you are.
I’m 41, Naples.
Grew up with Aphex Twin, Squarepusher and Maradona.
For about a month I closed my laptop,

sold my sound card and bought an Octatrack
for my beloved Monomachine.
I often read the forums to find answers and I am grateful to you all.
Waiting to read about some meeting somewhere …

my best regards!
