How old are you and where are you from?

Kia Ora cuz

Where in NZ were you? I’m rocking an AR+OT plus a bunch of other outboard, based down in Hawkes Bay… Virus TI, Minitaur, Microbrute, TimeLine, Big Sky, MuRF…

18 overs left for NZ
41 myself, influences started with acid house in the late eighties back in the UK, hard house, hard trance, dub, techno, trip hop, deep house, ambient, chill…
Trying to decide between an A4/AK/Sub37/Nord Lead 4R/Avalon Bassline Next…[/quote]
Chur bro,

Nice setup, I can’t speak for the other gear but having the A4 is a great match for the OT and AR.

I used to be based in Christchurch, but I moved to Sydney about 6 months before the earthquakes hit. The last time I went back Chch was in December, and it’s still pretty munted. It’s a real shame because it drew some great electronic acts back in the day.

Shame about the cricket too.

I looooove this guy sooooo much, you cant believe on how many levels his music talks to me! !! !!! !! !! !

so, I am 33 right now ( feel like 40 in body and 17 in mind) … started making music 5 years ago … heavily influenced by anthony rother, schneider tm, international pony, all schranz, thunderdome, slayer, digital hardcore recordings. best booze I ever drank was Bunderberg Australian Rum, weirdest :alien: I ever had was a :alien: some which I unfortunately dont remember (cos I was too drunk) … I will never question anything ever agian, because I know that the lights on the skies at nights are stars … if I was living a few hundert years earlier, I would go fucking mental, being unable to figure out what these things are … glad I know, so I wont ask, what is outside the universe!

good thread!

31, no, shit, 32, from Rome, caput mundi.
Listening to techno and electro scene since '95 fascinated by synthesizers.
I try to make my tracks since 2001 using always software and DIY controllers (also for DJ https://vimeo.com/31678440 ) but since last year, tired of pc, went to total hardware with Elektron.
Influences… well, detroit techno, electro & dub, then uk birmingham scene, all the last 90’s/first 00’s neapolitan hardgroove scene and last, but not least important, Rome local “environment”.

  1. Grumpy old git or so i’m told. Still’ i’m the fittest i’ve ever been and totally straight, t-total these days. Influenced by Gary Newman, Jon Foxx, Jarre, Tangerine Dream, Yes, Peter Gabriel, Hawkwind, Gong etc…and then after 1989 - all things House / Acid / Electronic.

  1. Amsterdam, NL for the last 13 years. Originally from Lichfield, UK.

My music preferences depend on my mood, season or what I am doing at the time. I actually prefer ‘quiet’ over anything though. I am sure it’s just an age thing I am going through plus I have a 5 yr old boy who suddenly started emulating opera singers for some unknown reason and though hilarious, it’s momentarily driving me insane.

I tallied up the ages of folks listed so far and the average age is 37 - Elektron might want to think about what that could mean and do something about it? Or most likely not!

40, living in Germany. Started my muscial socialisation with Level 42, The Smiths, The Cure, moved on to Ska, Reggae and Northern Soul. Got into Rare Groove/Acid Jazz/MPB in the early 90s and expanded my musical universe in the direction of House and Hip Hop (Gang Starr, Pete Rock & CL Smooth). Collected Mo’ Wax 12"s for a while and discovered Soma Records when they released the 1st Daft Punk Album. Listened to a lot of french stuff (Etienne de Crecy, Demon, Alex Gopher). Carl Craigs “More songs about food and revolutionary art” and “Bug in the bassbin” pushed me in the direction of Detroit Techno, started digging for the stuff that influenced it and fell in love with Göttsching’s E2-E4. International Pony brought me to DJ Koze and Erobique. Frequently check out Souljazz Records compilations and Druffalo Hit Squad mixes (http://www.druffalo.com/druffmix). Admire Move D (he used to DJ a lot near where I live) and Gerd Janson. Like what KiNK does live. Can’t go wrong with Stefan Goldmann/Finn Johannsen. Keep getting back to Stereolab and cheesy 70s cop show Soundtracks. Have and will always hate U2.

What was the question again?!
