Doing my part to make the OT3 happen by ensuring I’ll look the fool if it does
counterculture at it’s best.
Octatrack 3 chorus sounds so dead and lifeless !!! Pathetic !!! And you can’t route anything weird! New Elektron is an evil cult!!
Aleays disregarded the speculations about a new version as highly unlikely, but I don’t get why Thomann would remove it from their store, it’s not just out of stock, it it was still being made?
Last time I saw that was for og DT
they do that a lot nowadays. did it a few weeks ago with the tracker mini. it’s their “new thing”
OT II confirmed.
Release notes:
Dropped ‘MK’ from title
Decided against adding Overbridge
Sounds the same
Still not going to make you a better producer
Easily produce mediocre sounding ‘Happy Accidents’ that you’ll probably never actually use in a song
Rarely do release notes provide such insights into the decision making process for unpopular omissions. Props where props are due here.
I mean the last 1,5 year… He was big user of the units, i know. But there was a reason why, he said to experiment with other instruments as digitakt and octatrack will see… And 1 year later there was DT2
The unit to control them all/ or some kind of sampling/mixer… In a modern overbridge kind of setup. Whatever the new unit name will be
This is legit the best bit of evidence I’ve seen to date to support OT3 rumblings:
Nevermind. See below. Been around since 2024.
Speculation: They started digging into the history of the code and rewrite/modernise where required. Similar to DT to DTII or DN to DNII.
May the future be bright!
Edit: Has been around for a while but not officially downloadable.
Picked up an Octatrack last week and noticed it comes preloaded with 1.40C. I found this odd since there is absolutely no mention of it anywhere that I can find; everything online would indicate 1.40B is the latest and greatest. Anyone have any info on 1.40C? Release notes for example? Thanks in advance!
Yeah this happens all the time with all their devices, it don’t mean shit
e.g. see My new Octatrack came with 1.40B where somebody got a new Octatrack with 1.40B three weeks before it showed up on the support site. So your device probably means that A4mkii OS 1.51D will probably be available on the support site soonish. When it shows up, the release notes will explain the differences. Probably just small bug fixes. Off-topic: wow, “2024-W22”, I’ve never seen anybody actually use an ISO week-numbering date before!I hadn’t noticed elektron use that on th…
Even mk1 prices have become stubbornly high on reverb recently, like the owners know they are headed towards monomachine collector items soon…
The octatrack must have sold a lot more units than the monomachine, so I don’t think it will ever be as rare or exclusive

How often do you read : « It’s my 3rd or 4th Monomachine ».
