Octatrack OS 1.40C

Picked up an Octatrack last week and noticed it comes preloaded with 1.40C. I found this odd since there is absolutely no mention of it anywhere that I can find; everything online would indicate 1.40B is the latest and greatest.

Anyone have any info on 1.40C? Release notes for example? Thanks in advance!

Looking at their other devices, this is most likely update just for factory production reasons / it’s the same as other 1.40 version’s, but latest machines are marked with C

Can you take a photo?

Yeah all the other devices similarly had a small update to add support for an updated production process. It definitely wouldn’t be a major version release if it was amended with the ‘A/B/C/etc…’ lettering.

You can reach out to support for an answer, but I would guess they missed adding this one.

so should it be upgraded to 1.40b as it is the last version available on website?

You mean downgraded. I would leave it as is personally

ok, yes me too
i dont understant the logic of having a 140.c on new gear and 140.b available for download
anyway

Probably small bugfix iteration or hardware compatibility w black OTmk2 like others said.

Black MKII compatibility ?
What would be the difference with grey MKII ?

…very last addition to the very last ot fw update was nothing but a screensaver, which in this case, makes only sense and only worx for the mk2…

if u have a mk1, no worries…won’t make any difference at all…

Dunno different flux capacitor.

All i want is them to fix the other OT bugs jajaj

I asked support what is the difference between OS versions A/B/C/D etc, my A4Mk2 came with 1.51D, on the support page it is 1.51C. Christian explained to me:

This OS is specifically made for production purposes and doesn’t introduce any changes for the user compared to version 1.51C. Firmware updates like this are necessary to align with adjustments in our factory procedures.

So the same goes for the OT Mk2.

@sezare56 so my assumption regarding slight hardware differences was true
