For the first time (as far as I know) the Octatrack is completely ‘sold-out’ and marked as ‘product not available’ (so without expectations on availability) at Thomann. Some other resellers offer 15-20% discounts.
With all the OT MK2 influencing going on lately, this should be the moment. So yes, 6 years later I would say “anytime soon”.
I have NO PROOF this thread is the number one reason in the whole universe why the OT is sold out every year when there is a regular scheduled discount on the machine.
M not so sure about that…
There was a reason Why Cuckoo didn’t waste to much time on digitakt and octatrack. We got the new DT2 and now waiting on some octatrack replacement. Whatever the new name of unit will be.
I wonder what would happen to used prices if a fantasy mk3 drops that does everything and more? Don’t think it’d go down a that much since a new flagship would cost way more? Isn’t that what happened to Og Digitakt?
Or if it’s discontinued and something completely new drops, let’s call it “Tonverk” or whatever, I imagine the value would remain or even increase?
