I just found some cables that have female d-sub on one side so I figured I can just connect 2 d-sub cables without the patchbay, right? Then I choose to connect to the live setup or the studio
That would be perfect

What are you using with the MC-707?
I’m still trying to decide… Too many options But I really have to make a choice and stick to that setup, so I can actually build some tracks and perform them.
My MC-707 will pair with my TR-8S, with some of the following synths:
System-1m (including System-100 plug-out)
Typhon (has good internal fx, so can use this one while switching projects on the MC-707)
Bass Station 2 (which is huge, but has a nice resonant high pass filter which I love)
MB33 + Rat (will need FX from the MC-707)
TD-3-MO (will need FX from the MC-707)
Neutron (will probably sell, because in a live situation it is cumbersome to not have patch storage and I can make most of its sounds with other synths)
Peak (big and heavy, but nice - and I won’t need the BS2 if I add this one)
I also have a System-8 which I love, but it is too big for a (compact) techno setup. Would love a module version of that one, then I will probably also sell my System-1m.
Really need more inputs on the MC-707
Well, I probably only need like 2 mono synths and do all other stuff on the MC-707, but it is just too hard to decide…
The MC-707 is able to keep the external inputs sounding while switching projects, so I hope to be able to do seamless track transitions. I do have to keep project volumes consistent though and also don’t make the master fx/compressor do too much while transitioning.
Maybe I just have to add a little mixer after all, always with the same levels…
I think mc-707 + Peak + 2x monos is a sweet little setup.
I can’t live without my TR-8S Not only just for all the live performance possibilities with the drums, but also for the sidechain input. I route some stuff from the MC-707 into the TR-8S for sidechain and then the mix out back into the MC-707.
How do you like the A4?
Run the MC-707 (plus synth) into the TR-8S for sidechain duties. That’d work
I just edited my previous post: I already do that. But don’t want ALL sounds to be sidechained…
Sounds perfect
Topic still going, nice. Didn’t think it’d last too long when I started it. Anyways I have 2 x1u spare here what could I put in there?
Suggestions…
Nevermind 2u filled now… eBay is your friend
Next mod it for power and cv I/O
What stands are holding the A4 and Peak?
I use these, and the are excellent. Really sturdy, no wobble or movement at any angle. Great for heavy desktop synths.

This one sounds great and is a bit of a chore to program.
Yeah I’m online googling see if there’s an editor for mac. I love the sound but I fear the programming is gonna be a pain if I don’t have an editor to knock up a few patches for live.
Hello matey, how’s tricks?
Wow you’ve amassed some outboard there bud, curious what you spent (roughly) on the lexicon units and compressors. I’m deciding whether once I’ve sold my eurorack, gotten myself financially sorted again and have a minimal set up weather it’s worth just forking out for some decent outboard compressors, fx and decent larger mixer to bus my humble DT/OB6/future mono synth and OT (first and only things I feel i need in hardware terms) as well as routing Ableton and logic back through so I can concentrate on just tracking audio and writing fucking songs instead of endless fuxking around. I also wanna beef up my DT and OT (again future one, I swapped my older one for a DT as it’s more immediately useful in my case) an I much prefer mixing on a proper desk that is interfacing with whatever software, my audio interface is fine atm but I could expand on it like yours…but maybe not necessary if I’m only using say 3 stereo channels, and a couple of mono. 12 - 16 channels with enough sends/returns to bring in the daw and verb/delay/compression outboard
……I’m playing a lot more bass and guitar for a diff project unrelated to vacant houses so I’m gonna have to pick up a couple decent mics (sm57 for guitar and maybe a kick mic or an re 27 for bass, ambience, noise and vocals) I’m sure for what I’ve spent on modular i could create this set up at about a third of the cost, and it’d feel like being at uni again sans the massive neve desk we had access to…
Lexicon MX400 cost me £105.00
Lexicon MX200 was £57.00
Digitech Studio Quad v2 was £84.00
The other Digitech Studio Quad v2 was £113.00
Both DBX 166XS were under £50 each
The other stuff in the rack were purchased new at full price.
Both the Lexicons and Digitechs are in pristine condition too. eBay is your friend
PS
As for a mixer I have one of these brand new in the box here I only opened the box to fit the new card for it.
I may sell the mixer tho it’s fucking massive and it looks like a step learning curve. It does look fantastic tho
