What's your TECHNO setup

Sounds stellar. Love the kick patterns

At what time in the set? It s likely the AH but I have several filters and distortions in action, often overlapping too.

Ah I mean the main base melody in the opening track.
Overlapping different kinds of distortion is the way to go! Was just wondering because I see different kinds of overdrive units in your setup pic

In the intro ‘track’ the bass synth is AR DVCO. The sweeping filtered distortion is AH. But there s also a Xone:96 LPF filter going over it in parallel to the AH, and there s a send to the Space pedal with the awesome MangledVerb algo which is disto+ reverb…

Basically the whole set mutates around various points of filtering, EQ, distortion and verb+delay. The xone:96 filters are after the sends so cool fx can be created when the verb and/or delay receive the unfiltered signal while the source signal then goes through the filter. I much like it to wash out and recess the high frequency 909 ride and clap sounds for example. Then open the LPF to bring m front stage and hit hard.

The EHX tube pedal is pumping up the MD exclusively.

I love the Kawai K1m, and found one at a local music store this year for $50. It has some nice gritty sounds for Techno, but is a pain to program. Maybe one day I will purchase an editor.

Not so much hardware but wetware- i wonder if there’s an Oblique Strategies for techno.

Granted any Oblique Strategies is also one for techno… I need to write to card all the notes i have up in iCloud :stuck_out_tongue:

Yep. Instant B12 and LFO (the band) in a box. If you’re not afraid of plugins Nils K1v is an absolutely fantastic software emulation. Though I still find the hardware quicker to edit but K1v at least visualises some aspects better, envelopes etc.

I like how you throw plants in the mix. For that organic touch?

Ah the boutique 909, don’t see them too often these days. How you like it?

I had no idea there was another LFO. I don’t think all the K1’s in the world could help those sideburns.
