Bought some cheap cd’s at a second hand shop yesterday. I intend to rock out in my car and pretend I’m 14 again
OMG that looks amazing!
Heck yeah, I’ve been buying all my favorite albums on CD and vinyl again, a friend of mine left Japan and gave me a pretty sweet set of speaker so I’ve been enjoying listening to stuff like I did back when I was a teenager.
Kinda two birds with one stone because if I put a CD in my car it’ll rip it to the SD card in it.
Got my license at 16, after my first solo drive I had to make a personal rule:
“No FAT OF THE LAND while driving!”
I learned on the first drive that it is impossible to stay under the speed limit with that album playing.
Haha me too, fond (but also embarrassingly terrifying) memories of being completely reckless as a teen.
Songs for the deaf gets a bunch of
from me!
I always thought Burning Inside (Ministry) was a good driving fast track ![]()
The road scenery syncs up pretty good when you hit certain speeds.
Fun, I have a few Brook P5s hooked up. One for PC (GG Strive, SF6) and one for my MVS supergun (Garou cartridge)
Just ordered an MVS board. Mainly for Money Idol Exchanger and Last Blade 2. I use my MiSTer for most games. Just like to have a few originals for my favorites. ![]()
My other arcade PCBs are listed further up this thread when I got them.
Sanwa stick arrived today for the small stick build.
I’d like to get a few HAS Superguns, but not sure if/when another run is happening!
Purchased a Warm Audio WA-1B because it is discounted this month. It took more than a year for it to go on sale after released. It’s main purpose will be to record voices and different live instruments.
I just picked one of these up too. Such a dope lil synth. Paired with the SP is so good.
Intention for this setup was just to have something to quickly turn on, when I don’t feel like powering up Ableton. It’s nice to have very low boundaries for creating, cause sometimes I’m just too lazy to really get into it. I can just turn this stuff on and jam for like 5 minutes.
Inoculated grain with spores 7 days ago and noticed first signs of mycelium this morning. No signs of contamination, which likely would’ve already presented, so things are looking good!
how do you like the lexicon mx200?, is it good? i have the tc electronic m350 and i may need an extra effect processor in the futur, am not sure if ill get an mx200 or m-one xl.
@Tek456b
I’d say many of the effects sound a bit bland compared to what is available today in a similar price range and especially the reverbs lack control (you only have pre delay, decay and liveliness which is just a low pass filter or high shelf, so no control over the low frequencies) and most reverbs are pretty short. If you want long, lush reverbs, you’ll probably be disapointed. There’s actually only one longer reverb, the Arena reverb. Max decay feels like it’s around 6 seconds or so. Pretty nice, but without some EQ you get tons of low freq rumbling. So you’ll probably want at least a low shelf eq or ideally a steeper high pass filter to cut the lows.
Some of the delays can function as loopers with feedback at 100%. Crank the feedback to 100% and it loops the buffer according to delay length. Pretty cool, especially with midi clock sync.
The ping pong delay has control to shift the second tap back or forth in time and sounds pretty nice, too!
I really like the modulation effects on hi hats and other percussion to add some texture and/or sense of stereo. There’s a crunchy pitch shifter (great on hats), a tremolo/panner, vibrato etc. and you can set them pretty extreme. I guess it depends on what you’re looking for…
Two fx processors with various routing options (You can send the left input through fx 1 and the right input through fx 2 and output them each as a mono signal or as a mixed stereo signal.
Or you can have left and right input signals sent through both processors independently and have the output of both mixed as a stereo signal, or you can use it as a stereo effect with fx 1 feeding into fx 2 - so lots of options there) means there’s many ways to play with it and even as a simple multi fx send fx on a mixer it’s pretty versatile, but again, the reverbs and delays sound kinda bland. Basically bread and butter when the butter is almost empty and you’re trying to squeeze out what is left.
The MX400 adds more processing power and more parameters.
If you want a brief demo of some of the effects, let me know.
This is billed as a music theory/composition course disguised as an Ableton course.
Intention: Learn stuff
Interesting. Would love to know your thoughts after you’re done. I think the price is fair for the amount of work it takes to put a course together like that. But it doesn’t mean it’s extremely cheap either
I’m sure it teaches things I’d like to learn
