What's your latest purchase & what are your intentions with it? [pics ftw] (Part 3)

A big shout back to @Cemat super straight forward and easy to deal with.

I have had both the DT-700 Pro 85 and 250 Ohm and stuck with the high resistance one, kind of liked it, even if technical mismatch on most devices. I kind of remember the both being quite different. Any idea how the new X one compares (I have read more linear etc. but I think it depends on what people use to listen to the music - at least when it is used for production and mastering).

can you decribe the difference? my favorite headphone has quite high ohm but i read thats high ohm shouldnt be teally a sound plus nowadays

The tears have not started yet, but I pray they will be tears of joy, when the true majesty of the OT becomes clear to me…

Highly subjective. I really liked the sound of the high Ohm DT-700 better with the Analog Heat+ and the Akai Force. Maybe the underdriving had an effect that kind of made it better for me for listening (personal frequency response curve). That doesn’t mean the mixes will sound good for everyone. But it is quieter, also on Mac. The latest mixes on my channel were made with AirPodPro2 and DT 770 250 Ohm changing, the DT-700 being recovery and less pressure, ear recovery. It also helps it doesn’t get loud with weak equipment. So: highly subjective. But I like it a lot.

If you use a DAW, Beyerdynamic has a plugin for it’s headphones (end of chain) so they have a more neutral response.beyerdynamic HEADPHONE LAB

@Kegeratorz might make whiny shoegaze music, but at least it’s a schmick set of new kicks he’s lovingly gazing at!

I don’t accept the photographic evidence that it’s a cut down hard seltzer box, that’s a false, disingenuous and retrospective attempt at an obfuscatory perambulation around my preferred reality, and I ain’t havin’ it.

Ha! I prefer the term cunty when describing my music but thanks for listening!

I actually haven’t listened man, but now I kind of want to! Where can I hear something?

I just couldn’t leave shoebox > pedals > shoegaze alone… and really, if I have to suffer the constant painfully lame stream of puns and word association that’s Jackson Pollock’d onto my consciousness by my brain, why should I suffer alone? Besides, spouting nonsense drivel on here is probably my main creative outlet.

What?
Macbook Air M5.
What do I plan to do with it? Leave behind the painful and expensive concept of dawless.
All my devices will be sold except the MIDI controllers, and maybe one or two machines.

Thank you!

The Slim21s are indeed available now and shipping. Haken Audio estimates the wait time as 5 weeks, but mine shipped just over 3 weeks after I ordered.

Owning a Continuum is a dream I didn’t think I’d likely realize until they dropped the Slim21. Mostly because of the cost of the larger models, but also because I had never had a chance to explore one hands on. The idea that I might not gel with the flat playing surface of such an expensive device was a serious blocker for me considering a purchase. The Slim21 isn’t cheap by any means, but it was within my ā€œlet me sell some other gear so I can give it a shotā€ zone.

I’ve been having an absolute blast the last couple of hours discovering both it’s playability as a controller and it’s flexibility as a synth. Turns out I do gel with the Continuum playing surface!

I’m a little intimidated to get into the Eagenmatrix; didn’t really engage with it when I owned an Osmose. But having the Slim21 is strong motivation to embrace the complexity…

I’ve got some MPE mayhem planned with Continuum + Redshift 6, Continuum + Push 3, and eventually Continuum + DMNO (once the DMNOs MPE abilities get implemented in a FW update!).

The same for me. I see this as a retirement project (2-3 years) or sooner if everything is stable in my life.

Thanks for the early feedback.
