I placed a bid on an SP404 at a pretty good price. My goal: to track certain patterns from my instruments, apply effects, but above all to capture analog instruments to combine them with my electronic hardware ^^ I have the hapax for everything related to sequencing. I hope the workflow will be nice.
Same day arrivals: jellymix and analog rytm
Rytm frees my syntakt to be VCO synths and provides general drum machine nice to haves like velocity pads and dedicated tracks per drum to keep things more consistent for me. It also sounds great and lets me use it for all drum sample needs so my Tonverk can be all stems/loops/sound effects and grainer/multisample instruments. It also solves the problem of drum machine GAS since I immediately found it capable of doing everything I would actually want a TR1000 or hexdrums to do and I can sequence it with my Oxi one multitrack to get the Perkons workflow if I want.
Jellymix gives analog summing and fx sends for my submix of standalone synths and several channels of elektron boxes and gives a lot of nice performance controls. I have things set up to be able to track the individual sources as well as the master out from the jellymix for recordings of my live jams.
Both are aimed at developing music in a way that can translate to live performance with a somewhat stripped down setup. I’m now learning how much bookkeeping and preparation is associated with performing live electronic music in a way that the sounds and patterns are predictable and available and triggered on command.

I sold my Digitone II and bought a TEO-5 desktop. It’ll be here Saturday.
I have had such a love-hate relationship with Digitone II. I LOVE the sound engine. It’s very easy to build fun and complex voices. I understand the workflow, the sequencer, the modulations/machines/filters. But unless you’re working with Overbridge, the lack of an aux out has always always always been an annoying problem for me. It means, if I want to use better reverb/delay effects, I have to decide if the Digitone is going to be ALL voices that sound good wet (pads, leads, etc) or dry (drums, bass, etc)… so it kind of means I’m only ever using one or two tracks at a time.
Since I bought Tonverk I have found myself thinking “if I’m only using the Digitone II for one thing at a time, why not swap it out for something with more limited polyphony/layering but is way more fun/interesting/idk??”
And so I let it go (for now, I might buy an original if I see one for the right price). TEO 5 looks like it will pair really well with Tonverk and from what I’ve tried playing it it fucking sounds fantastic. Was smiling the whole time I was playing it in the basement of the gross ass Guitar Center on 14th street in NYC.
I will also say, I really don’t want a bunch of single task synths and things all connected together. An Elektron device that you can build whole tracks in is way more appealing, if only because I’m too stupid to remember how to re-open a project across so many devices lol. So hopefully one day we’ll see a synth in the Tonverk style hardware, it would definitely check my boxes.

NEW: This here TD-3 and RAT. TD-3s (and MOs) are hard to come by at the moment in the U.S. so I’m glad to have tracked this one down and in a color I don’t hate none-the-less
INTENTION: Combine with some quality primarily 909 samples (Goldbaby, SFM, etc) with some other simple elements on my DT2/OT and brew up some acid live-jams in the vein of say System 7’s “Alphawave (PM remix '95)” - but with a pinch more heat (tho solidly old-school and not getting into acidcore or modern territory. Apologies, but I like the old shit)
I guess a second RAT has also invaded the house… I’m going to be borrowing an MO from a friend as well to try it out and compare, with the intention of buying a second 303 in some form in the near future. I could see an RD-9 potentially in my future as well (TR-1000? Nah, I’m not made of gold)
EDIT: Yeah, I feel dirty buying a Behringer product. I looked long and hard at everything that was not that and am trying my damnedest to roll with 909 samples and not cave on the 909 clone. Buuuuut, in TB-land, the alternatives were less than appealing: touch screens, insane dollars, incorrect slide behavior, or less-than-good digital emulations. Plus, somebody else already bought this one new and I’m just using it instead of it collecting dust. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do even if it makes you vomit in your mouth a little bit

Bought a couple of stands this morning at Anderton’s. Got the large single stand here for my Virus Ti2 Desktop.
Then I got the large double 2 tier stand for some other gear.
Look pretty cool, looking forward to delivery tomorrow.

How you find the AutoDelay? And whats kind of your usecase?
Those stands are great, I have two. I want a couple of large trays too but can’t find them anywhere.

Yeah the trays were out of stock at Anderson’s as well or I’d have got them as well. Just hoping the Virus desktop sits nicely on the single one tho
As with everything else, I considered it. Then I read someone call the sound “tame” relative to the mkI/others and that scared me off of it
It’s a really unique delay, and I chose it for the interesting things it can do that basic pedals cannot. That said, it’s also much more complicated than others and sometimes the added complexity can be a downside in that it just takes additional time/thought than a more standard delay. A lot of pedals simply wouldn’t work for me because they don’t sync to a clock and it does (midi or CV)
My use case is as a send effect from the L6max primarily

I’ve had a TEO-5 down to Tonverk or Drop fit on the large without a tray by adjusting it. For an idea of the range.

My new desk just arrived so i will start building it tonight after a few cold beers of course. Tomorrow the stands arrive so I want it ready. The thing I think is costing me the most are the cables now haha I now need lots of (trs to dual ts) cables so I can rig this up
