What's your latest purchase & what are your intentions with it? [pics ftw] (Part 3)

Sooo… a 12 bit reduction and a CB Lossy emulation?

I have the reverb and always been meaning to pick top the delay - this might push me over the edge to use with my MPC.

On another note why was the OTO Biscuit discontinued? Parts? That looked real fun

Just normal vs. 0db version shows nicely how hats and snares become more … “matte” - bit in the back with just the right amount of crunch on top, while top is subtly cut. I played a lot with vintage samplers IR’s and each had this eq curve a bit unique (and obviously dependent on set sample rate). From all different modern bit crushing options, this one is my favorite and also within reach - at least when you compare to finding working s950, mpc60 or something similar from that era… and “in gain” means business.

You can do this with the Bam too, Reverb Type #8 is a through mode which allows use of the In Gain and Filters.

Istanbul Agop 30th Anniversary cymbals just arrived.

15” hi-hats
20” ride
22” ride

I’d been jonesing for these cymbals for 6 or 7 years and just decided to go for it finally. The snare drum is a new addition also - 5”x14” Gretsch chrome over brass. It’s a reissue of a much older snare that appeared on a lot of Blue Note recordings over the years.

Intention: add some dirt and clang to the weird computer music I make.

I’ve just bought a couple of these because they were only £25 each. A couple of quick tests and they sound pretty good.

That is quite a device!

A lot to learn, though (months, years). You can do it @rob_lee.

My Oxi will be here tommorow

Same here )
Oxi e16 is coming

I’m a good learner I’ve scaled down my setup since the last few weeks. I think I have just 3 synths and Digitakt 2 now so The Drop and OXI One will be perfect for me.
