What's your latest purchase & what are your intentions with it? [pics ftw] (Part 3)

I had some 50% off coupons for the Yahoo Japan shopping site so picked up some cheap studio swag to keep me motivated.

One of my favorite MF Doom photos (it’s actually an A4-sized sticker that I framed with a 100 yen shop frame) and a Lord Quas pin.

And I rolled the dice again and came up lucky. I love the BX-600 so much, I couldn’t pass up its battery-powered little brother for $20. Looks brand new and sounds great. Even less headroom than the BX-600, so it gets crazy dirty. Good video on it below.

That guy even posted a workaround to jury-rig an FX send using pan.

A4 MK1 or 2?

no, i’m not affiliated with this chinese manufacturer in any way
intention: portable music gear obsession requires fair amount of proper cables.
in particular decent 2.5" to 3.5" cables for OG Uno Synth.

That is a very nice setup indeed. I’ve been tempted by both those synths in the past but in the end I headed in a different direction. Maybe one day : )

Yeah I love this little setup I’m gonna add some pedals to the x3 Virus outs. Also now thinking about the Hapax for my main sequencer sometime soon

I think you’re somehow the alternative me who makes sensible decisions based on logic and I’m the alternative you who just flails around buying random stuff when drunk.

Haha I buy things when drunk, I’m drunk now been out this afternoon and already online shopping checking stuff out. Although I don’t need anymore synth I am absolutely thinking about the Squarp Hapax to sequence my gear. That’d be all I need as the Virus, Peak and Bass Station 2 give me so much soundwise. The Digitakt 2 is my favourite drum sampler.

Chroma Console to pair with the Matriarch etc:

Hapax works great with Virus since you can have 16 patterns going with different Virus patches for a symphony of drums, bass, pads, leads and more.

Very cool - what your preference? I guess somewhere in the middle for lo-fi

Aliasing maybe a bit much for my taste in the +15 clip

Potentially my favorite piece of gear! So great sounding and knobbily performative

+8db sounds the best to me

Its got the filter all the way open so its letting in all the high frequencies, dropping the filter helps tame it.
