What's your latest purchase & what are your intentions with it? [pics ftw] (Part 3)

The PO16 and the “KNOT” from Intech Studio. Already had the PBF4 which I use to control the Bluebox. The PO16 is used to control the mod wheel and breath controller across 8 midi channels on the Digitakt 2 and Digitone 2. I made a template project where I have pre-configured some basic MW and BC parameters (e.g. kick high pass, hihat decay, clap decay, etc) and left some space for track specifc stuff. Works great! It makes performing a little bit quicker and more idiot proof

I’ve been holding off because of the bugs, etc. Let us know how you get on with it.

Had a weird one today. Saw an e25 digitone and e25 digitakt locally on marketplace for a fantastic price. Went to meet up with an older gentleman who was very kind. He was helping with an estate sale for an older couple that lost their 43 year old son. He had an absolute COLLECTION of gear. Anyway, I got the units home and noticed the digitakt had a glass screen protector installed, something I had done to my e25 digitakt before trading it in at a retailer after the DT II came out. Curious, I looked at old pictures of it and yep, it’s my original unit, same xxxx/1999 number. RIP Mr Mcafferty and welcome home e25 DT.

Wow, what a journey, thanks for sharing the story! Still the most beautiful instruments out there.

Agreed, I wish this was the default faceplate to be honest, and I’m still not sure if the screen cover is glass or plastic but it’s different than the acrylic of the regular units and didn’t come with a film on it which leads me to believe it’s glass.

Just got it for a weekend and so far (touch wood) none of the bugs or freeze issues. Maybe I’ve not pushed it hard enough or loaded it with complex samples. Just a few folders of loops and it is quite an amazing piece of gear. Like you I was hesitant, but everything about it was what I was looking for in a sampler that’s not a typical groove box.

Version 2.0 is the only firmware I used and blissfully unaware of the previous bug issues.

This. Had one before. Never used it.

I want to be able to headphone preview sounds and grooves in either the Digitone and / or Digitakt for smooth swaps and drops. This is a remarkably affordable mixer to get that done.

Sunday morning shopping :grinning: Just ordered “NOVATION PEAK” coming tomorrow from Anderton’s UK

After watching a ton of videos I decided this was the desktop synth I wanted to pair up with my Elektron boxes and my Korg Multi/Poly. Can’t wait to see and try it in person.

PS
Was thinking that my Digitone 2 could sequence this nicely? Or maybe the Digitakt 2 i’ll try both see what’s best.

The Digitone II is the best Sequencer. It has Chord modes and a 16-note polyphony per step (DT has only 4) and can Transpose easily (FUNC + + or -)

Was thinking

Peak into Digitone 2 input (also sequenced by dt2)
Digitone into Digitakt 2 for sampling and master

I’ll have to fit Syntakt, Multi/Poly and TD3-MO in there then I’m set. Got other gear but i think the above will make for a great Techno mini setup

In my Live setup, everything goes into a Mixer (in my case, a Bébé Chérie) and the Outputs of the Mixer go into the Digitakt II. DT II and DN II use their own Sequencer and everything else is sequenced by the Digitone II.

Just got my Oxi one mkII the other day. It’s my first Oxi one so still getting my head wrapped around all that it can do, but so far it’s very nice…

Also got a PF-3mkII. Cause who doesn’t need Polvolk filters in their lives(and why not when it was about $200 new!).

Not a purchase, but someone gifted me this cute little bag to transport Digitone with :slightly_smiling_face:

I added an ES-8 to my pod. I’m going to use it with Ableton Cv tools to go down the hybrid modular rabbit hole.

If you haven’t unpacked your mixer for at least half a year, maybe you don’t even need one? How would you know the one you bought isn’t working for you if you haven’t even unpacked it?

I don’t want to sound condescending, but sometimes we think way too much about gear (or buy it) that we don’t even need. Maybe you don’t need a mixer and can stop thinking about it.

Reason I haven’t unpacked it is mainly due to the house moving thing. The only gear I have been using since moving and decorating is my elektron boxes on the couch with headphones but soon I’ll be in a position to setup everything nicely hence most of my gear is boxed up.
