What's your latest purchase & what are your intentions with it? [pics ftw] (Part 2)

So a DAW then, or a piano?

one of my friends has one and it was fun and interesting but with all the gear I have, not a must buy.

Focal Shape Twins, got a pair on Friday. Breaking them in this week. So far first impressions are great. A few more days of letting them go with a playlist at mid volume and we’ll see where we’re at.

Ha, I wish I had room for a piano. Currently I’m using Push 3 (which replaced an MPC I’ve had a few years) and Elektrons for sequencing. Or, on rare occasions, sequencing from Ableton.

Bought a Korg SQ-1 to pair up with my Moog semi-modulars. I wanted to use it to do some cool modular-style sequencing by separating pitch & gate. It can also sequence VCF and VCA levels, play the DFAM as a melodic synth, or just using it as 2-output MIDI>CV interface. All these extra utilities will keep from going Eurorack for an extra…week, maybe, two? The sequencer itself is simple, but tons of fun, and very good for jamming. I’ve already recorded a bunch of little demos with it:

Sometimes simple, good clean fun is the best fun one can have.

lmao this is me right now. I just wish I could run the m32 sequencer clock to keep the dfam in sync with digitakt… without it spitting out notes lol but to solve this my brain keeps saying get a euro case and some modules itll solve the problems and ones i don’t even know about yet haha

It’s finally happened!

Intentions were drums. That went out the window within 5 minutes. This thing is a droning noise masterpiece. So now intentions are to just go with flow and see what happens.

3rd Day Edit: it drums real good too. And I’m saying that as someone more into hip-hop than techno.

See you later, alligator (in the Current…)!

I don’t know about an SQ1 for that, since it only does MIDI over USB, but you might also have luck using Roland’s Aira boxes as a cheap MIDI-CV bridge for DFAM. Used ones are like $150 US and they’re battery powered.

I mostly meant ā€˜will current system keep me from buying a case’, because it is inevitable and I’m just saving money right now

I’ve got elektron sequencers for the m32/DFAM combo, which is… holding me over for the time being haha

M2 and currently I’m using it with Drambo as the main DAW with a ton of Audio Units, pretty much everything I’ve been able to get my hands on so far, MiRack, Moog model D, Moog Model 15 modular, Korg Polysix, Aruria SEM, Sunrizer, Waldorf Nave, Sugarbytes Factory, Sugarbytes Drumcomputer, koala sample, Audulus 3, Elastic drums, Pure Acid, DefleMask, Nanoloop, DRC, Troublemaker, Voxel, Ruismaker FM, Ripplemaker, Skiid, Seekbeats, Synthone, EGDR909. Chowkick, Animoog, Fluxmini 2,Dubstation 2, Rough rider 3, Electric FX, Viking synth, LRC7, DLYM, PCM12, LRC5, Tape Cassette 2, Fabfilter Saturn, Fabfilter twin 2, Fabfilter Timeless 2 and probably some other stuff I can’t think of at the moment.

Lots and lots of fun and very capable tools available for iOS these days. Id like to find a synth closer to the Virus…something like Serum would be ideal. Other than that I also bough Korg Gadget though I regret it…Although one could make music with Gadget it’s just too toy like for me, way to limited, I wish I had spent that $40 on more Fabfilter plugins like their Reverb and Compressor.
I plan on grabbing those in the future along with the Eventide effects.

I think after many many years I have found my favourite sampler and groovebox. This thing is so much fun and after just a few days I’m hooked.

Octatrack came close to being my fav sampler but the deluge is excellent in so many ways.

I always sell on anything I replace but think I’ll use the Octatrack as mixer and fx box until the honeymoon period is over

Congrats, deluge is awesome! Wait to you try the looper!

I’ve been building kits and today combining two multi sampled synths into one preset. It’s so quick and easy. So much to learn and looking forward to the looper
