Great monitors!

Have you heard them in person? They’ve been on my wish list for a long time but I didn’t have a chance to hear them in person. I have no doubts that they’re great though.

Besides a little more acoustic treatment, I’m feeling like I’m entering a holding pattern in my studio setup once these arrive.

Now is the time to focus on prolific music making for me.

I’ve heard quite a few different Genelecs due to the big local studio’s got an owner who’s very keen on them. In that series you’ve got, I’ve heard the 8351s a couple of sessions - great sound!

Awesome, thanks for the response!

I have an old TC Electronic BMC-2 Monitor Controller with digital outputs. I was planning to convert the SPDIF output to AES/EBU and go straight digital into the 8341a’s

Probably can’t get a much better signal to them than that

Now I wait impatiently for them to arrive :mantelpiece_clock:

I have literally been dreaming of these for 2 years… I’ve had my poor 8030s for 10 years but with little kids mainly jam on headphones so havent been able to justify the purchase.

Well done - I bet they sound incredible

Probably a similar time frame for me as well.

Part of picking them was the fact that they can be used effectively in less than ideal spaces at close range and at lower volumes.

I’m mostly excited about the extreme detail and separation stated in many reviews. People saying they can easily hear 0.5db EQ changes and notice where sounds have conflicting frequencies much easier.

This + some strategic finishing of my sound treatment and I hope I’ll have a high end reliable listening environment.

It comes with the GLC or whatever its called calibration tool right, or do you need to buy that separately?

GLM has to be bought separately unfortunately. I did buy it at the same time though.

I bought myself some toys!

I took the Syntakt and a new power bank on holiday and loved it for quick sketching and trying out groove ideas. I took it to a jam session and the others enjoyed playing guitar and bass over it. I’m enjoying learning its quirky synths. I bought it to be a sketchpad, but it’s clearly much more capable.

My intentions for the Boum and Mood are to sound more like the Chemical Brothers. I’ve opened them to check contents, but havn’t had time to use them yet. I thought Elektrons were addictive. I’ve not used the Mood but I already want a Habit!!

Death By Audio Space Bender. I suspect that I’ll be using this on a wide variety of sources.
