What's your latest purchase & what are your intentions with it? [pics ftw] (Part 2)

My very first Doepfers; let’s see how a switched waveshaper sounds…

Pretty excited for this one… been on the GAS list since it dropped into our cosm!

Intentions: send effect, route stupid loops through it and hope for magic to come out… looking forward to getting the Gen Loss 2 now so it can sit aftet This hem in the effects chain… also, really fits in with the Field gang!

I just added InAmp to my tiny Eurorack for bringing any sounds into Beads. I can imagine the love story that will unfold between Digitone and Beads in the coming weeks!

I also added Milky Way because I wanted a multi fx module for enlivening DFAM and Subharmonicon and it was just the right size.

Then I also got a USB MIDI host module (ACL Mini MIDI) to control the DFAM with my Elektron boxes. I used to have Polyend Poly 2 which was great, but it was too big for my needs.

The Deepmind - bought 6 weeks ago at auction for £270. Was praying it was only the 2 keys that were the issue, and that seems to be the case

I just played around with it for a few hours, which has probably fucked my plan to fix the keys and sell it  it’s very useable and I think I can easily fit it into my workflow.

Just wondering - were you aware that Beads can take a (very) wide range of input signals? You can run your Digitone straight into the beads with no trouble. Of course, if you were going to process the DN before going into beads, then you have a neat solution there.

I thought i’d share my recent heatwave spends splurge:

melotas versio (a second versio to join a desmondus which I’ve been liking a lot; and a hard thought out decision not to go for an FX AID Pro or Xaoc Timisoara)

Memo pi Wingie V 2

Databender

1010 fireball (like lemondrop a lot and despite that I can use an IPad, I won’t, and like to have a pocket size dedicated wavetable box)

Nunomo yun mk 2

All arriving next week … too much stuff at once, but will put in the coming Autumn and Winter months

I finally have Chime and other Orbital classics on vinyl.

Intentions are to put the needle on the record (status: in progress)

Orbital’s and Autechre’s ‘90s film score work is how I got into electronic music. Still love them.

Don’t they have the best looking manuals? I’m missing Bam’s but left out Bim & Boum because the colors are so vibrant.

Yeah, I’ve used it directly with other sound sources and synths, but I have also other uses for InAmp in mind…

Now I just wish I could replace my Maths with something smaller. It takes one third of my 60 HP skiff… I guess the whole idea of a 60hp modular is a bit silly… :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Have a look at the cosmotronix delta V. Dual envelopes, small size, lots of cv.

The fact that the model cycles still has completely broken pattern scaling still fills me with rage. It genuinely made what otherwise could be a decent product worthless with how I intended to use it. It really seems like Elektron abandoned the cycles line of products.

Ha!!

Very coincidental!

Just today I was telling someone that if they saw their mom this weekend, to be sure and tell her: SATAN! SATAN! SATAN!

Hopefully these are the ones :joy:

FFS these are expensive!

Intention: Be able to taste the ingredients of fart recordings (aka hear really well).

Also force me to finish cleaning out the closets and sell the rest of my unused gear to offset this large expense.

I’m not even keeping the deepmind… I wrote down all the vsts I have, the financial position I’m in, how much power I have to sequence them, ableton etc.

Opened it up and figured out how to fix the keys last night… So my most recent purchase is-

Not sure if this counts as no money was exchanged, but when visiting my in laws I happen to stumble upon this Korg electric piano.

Other than it weighing a ton, it’s the perfect electric piano for me to try and build some more chops on the keys. I have other instruments with keys but I finally have a set that feels like a “real” piano. I am hoping the feel translates into a thirst for practice and inspiration to get better.

Awesome, capable of some really haunted-ballroom sounds

Yes I am pretty excited to get it home and explore the sounds
I have a slightly different version than the one in the video. Mine has an added string section, which has some settings that let it get to an almost reverb sound
