So this is that kotare I hear flapping around.
WARNING:
OP is hilarious
Are you threatening me?
catching 3 fish with 1 bird ⦠sweeeeet !
Ladies and gentlemen, stop acting like preschoolers. Thanks.
RSo, to summarize, the sole reason you are so angry is that Electron could not fix your unit during their Christmas break?
yes, but he is a super duper pro, and pioneer of electronic music, so you have to understand his pro emotions
should you have said girls and boys then?
but no, no, no,
some of the funniest jokes come out when someone is throwing the toys out of the pram.
You know, I seriously think he had other shit going on and just ended up blowing off steam.
Letās not try and call him out anymore.
Dumbeat, get it straightened out and be cool. If you donāt like the service of one company maybe you shouldnāt support them.
My last advice would be, always use the provided psu and if signs of trouble come get them sorted early.
In all seriousness, this needs to die!
- MKII UW +Drive
- It started showing weird signs but at restart it would work fine, until one day it just wouldnāt boot anymore.
- Tried it in many different locations, with different PSUās.
- It wont go into any sys diagnosis mode except the one that checks the button operation by showing all the ledās responding
- Tried factory reset, it looks like its doing the reset but then goes back to its old ways
- Im in NY. I do not know anyone using this machine around me. At least not in my community.
Thanks!

dumbeat - Iām in NY, and I have the same MD. FWIW, Iāve only had some small problems with my OT, that Iāve fixed on my own - just the usual stuff that goes wrong with any internal connectors - clean, re-seat, re-assemble. Thatās what an electrician would do, in addition to measuring the PSU and such.
My two cents: I had to send in a monomachine to LA a few weeks back. In my correspondence with LA at the time they mentioned they were going to be closed the 22 through the 26th. If you just submitted a ticket last week or the week before, it would have to wait until they actually are in the office again. I imagine there will be a backlog this week as they are the primary support for the entire US(and I imagine the western hemisphere) so you may have to wait a day or two. They were very professional and took care of me in a timely matter once we got the ball rolling and my unit shipped down. Iām sure theyāll get back to you.
cāmon man⦠people are supposed to work through the holidays to fix things, not see their families or take a break ever because thereās nothing more important than some guyās drum machine
Dumbeat, youāre wasting you time here. Since you seem to want to perform some kind of community service to the āProā community instead of dealing with us hipster hobbyists, why donāt you go out to NAMM and do your petulant child routine there? Or is it better for you to bitch with anonymity here so the rest of the Pros donāt have to realize what a hothead you are?
Perhaps someone could educate a simple hobbyist here?
Trying to put myself in the shoes of a big time notorious producer in NYC whoās experiencing issues with his $1500 drum machine that are causing (obviously very costly) downtime while working on a big and lucrative contract with A-list artist(s)ā¦
How the f⦠would I not do a one hour roundtrip to B&H Photo, who have at this very moment (and most likely had all month) units in stock while the issue is sorted out?
Another thing Iād like to understand: Iād venture any professional producer, most likely with a few dozen thousand dollars worth of studio equipment - including vintage gear long out of warranty - would know at least one knowledgeable tech who could open any broken piece of equipment and have a quick look in case of an emergency? I mean, Iām just an hobbyist fucking around in my little home studio and I know two techs I could go to on short notice.
Someone please enlighten me.
No shit.
This is looking like Gearslutz.
Update:
Elektron contacted me and asked me to ship to LA where it should be fixed in the next few days. Good move. Lets see how it pans out.
Wishing the unit a speedy fix!
It totally doesnāt.
Weak threads get blown out regularly on this forum, and then power users come on with legitimate threads and get slept on. I think you just may be a regular on here and really enjoy it.
After doing a search of your old posts, Iād definitely block you if we had the option to in this forum.
Iām interested in hearing what music you helped āpioneerā. Also, have someone test your PSU, it might just be dying. That happens. It happened to my OT out of nowhere. A simple $15 fix. It only takes a multi-meter to test with. Def sounds like a faulty power supply to me. Either way, good luck.
