Vermona is using ding in the english speaking way as to describe hitting the bell of a cymbal or similar like when someone pretends to be ringing the bell at a boxing match when two people are about to argue or something they say “DING” so it’s used in common english vernacular.
Everyone is correct, it’s an awkward name but it’s also proper english and there are people who speak other languages so who cares.
How much does the shit cost? That’s all I care about.

I accept that. We speak 3 languages at home, and I live in a place that speaks a language I heard for the first time quite later in life. Just having fun here, guys. Vermona might be my favourite company, even, but to this day the pun-based name PerFOURmer grates on me.

By the way, the last thing the rep says in the video is that they’ll keep “ding” for its positive connotation in English. You’ll have to accept the name was specifically considered for its English meaning, to borrow the language of your salty missive.

In one video the rep quoted four figures. Not much to go on but considering what’s out on the market and the tariffs kicking in that should give you an idea of what’s to come.

I’m thinking of buying a non-Elektron drum machine at the end of the year or the beginning of the next. DrumDing interests me because I’ve only heard really good things about Vermona, we’ll see. Hopefully there will be more news soon.
