Vermona drumDING

I can’t wait for this!

One cannot help but think that it resembles a TR606 with a gym membership.

Yes, it’s an invitation for the event where you are welcome to play with drumDing in it’s current state.
Just posted it , because there’s some sound in the video…and drumDIng sounds have been scarse so far…

Definitely the piece of gear I’m most hyped for. Love the idea and it sounds great.

From what I’ve learned from the videos, it will come fully featured.

I actually like the developing approach they are taking, because it looks like they are gathering feedback from actual users while the product is not entirely finished. Also … they don’t seem to rush. Which maybe shows some trust (realism?) they have in their market share.

Edit: And yes!! this looks the most interesting of all in the year of the drum machines™

This looks great. Lots of fun.

Coming from EastGermany iam biased towards Vermona yeah but can not help myself in thinking: iam much more interested in such new concepts and sounds like this or ST instead of old overused sounds. They were great and i love them, still iam a raver of course, but making music with it? Nah give me fresh ideas and sounds making music with it makes much more fun than trying to imitate something which was perfectly done 30-20 years ago.

What i want to say is: Looking forward to this thing. I love fresh ideas. And this machine seems to be a great concept: Explore sounds by One Knob per Function analog circuits with great sounds (also weird ones) all over the place. And then stick to it, place it on some steps and go on. That seem to be a fun yet productive workflow in one machine. Rather than endless fiddling around and on the one side hours of fun sounddesign and “ohhs” and “ahhs” but on the other hand havent made a simple beat with what you found, it forces you to go on. Of course you still can noddle around in exploring sounds for hours.
Also the machine seems small and ergonomic. I hope that they will develop it further with cool ideas and a streamlined easy yet deep and powerful sequencer and stuff. For the sounds itself i think they will be great.

Took a screenshot where you can read most labels.
The routing section looks very interesting. Parallel signals (from 4 sources) can be blended between pre- and post filter into the VCA.
And there’s plocks (please resist joking endlessly again… ), probability, micro-timing and per step FX settings as far as I could spot. Lovely sound, too. Oh, and FM and a separate phones output (maybe this let’s you silently redo sounds on the fly while the sequence is running?!). Very cool!

Edit… and there’s an AUX input that can also be routed through the VCF/VCA into the sampler.
