I own every Unfiltered Audio plugin (and wayyyyy too many Plugin Alliance plugins) but at the moment I’m still only seeing a $99 price tag for Battalion.
Absolutely love UA, so I I’ll definitely be grabbing this at some point.

This is fantastic! Excellent demo of what Battalion does well.
I find that I’m not using the sample engines much except for the occasional glitch/noise/granular layer. The synth engines combined with the fx and modulation are where it’s at for me.
This! Please! I really, really love Battalion so far. This feels like a miss.
Is there anyway of locking the channel outputs. Gonna get old having to set them every preset.
Right-click on the selector to add a lock to it:
Quick edit: These locks will get saved with your project or if you save Battalion to a track template in your DAW. It’d be useful to create Battalion, set up all of your output tracks, group them together, lock the parameters, and save it as a multi-out template.
Woo, thanks!
Superb if those bugs get slammed! I have so many crashes. Good thing Bitwig sandboxes.
And 1 Q;
Everything gets randomised with the main topright randomizer. (unless parameter is locked)
But the sampler engine stays empty/unchanged?
Would be cool if we could param lock more than one macro (besides the usual pitch and sends etc …).
Great plugin anyway
Hi everyone, here are some beta builds to fix the worst bugs that made their way into the release.
@Stufflinear @Zelio @tdmusic Let me know if this build improves stability. We’re pretty sure that we isolated every reported crash on this one.
Battalion 1.0.4
EDIT: outdated links removed. Beta 2 below
Will there be improvement to cpu optimization? Plugin burns hot on my computer.
what are your specs?
Thanks @trickyflemming, it’s great that you managed to fix the stop button bug.
For the crashes linked to the randomize button, I’m afraid it’s still the same, I used this version for something like 5 minutes and managed to crash it 4 or 5 times in Bitwig. So now it’s not the step button turned to the left that crashes everything, it’s something else.
It’s a shame because it’s such a great plugin !
Thanks for the quick testing! I’ll see if I can catch the randomization crash in the debugger. If so I’ll get new builds out once it’s fixed.
Thank you! Super
Now i can sequence it myself with the stopbutton working, plus Randomize it without crashing.
Hasnt happened in 20 times, which like before crashed every 6 randomisations.
Weird that @Zelio has got it the other way around
Randomisations also sound a bit more reasonable now haha. Which is good to me
@Zelio Can you try this one?
I was looking in the wrong spot, as I was looking for a hard crash. Josh caught an infinite loop yesterday when rapidly randomizing mid-ratchet, and it seems like randomization is now stable. If this build fixes your issue, I’ll go ahead and send these in to PA.
EDIT: Windows build for anyone who needs it: Dropbox - WinBattalion_2024.05.01 1.0.4 beta 2.zip - Simplify your life
It works now ! Hell yeah ! Thanks @trickyflemming that’s so great.
I’m a huge fan of plugins with randomization but what’s unique about yours is the combo of deep sequencers and a great variety of synthesis engines, that produce wild results that go well beyond the initial premise of “just” a drum machine and that’s perfect.
It’s the only plugin that I know that sounds like late Xenakis computer pieces when you randomize it, this is so great
@trickyflemming, would you recommend users download this beta or just wait for the first proper update? I’ve not had issues yet, but maybe I’ve just gotten lucky:)
Thanks!
Totally up to you! I just sent these builds in to Plugin Alliance, so they’ll be out officially in a week or so (I’ll post here once I hear). I recommend the update since it fixes a hard crash when manipulating sequences in a specific order and a lockup when randomizing presets. Additionally, the stop button works properly now, which is important for a lot of people.
Ok. I’ll go ahead and install for now. Thanks for the quick reply.
Some Battalion clips… been going deep on randomness and then trying to rein it all in. A little Echoboy and Blackhole on the output to smooth things out a bit
