Unfiltered Audio - Battalion (soft drum synth)

If you want the steps to reflect on a controller, the controller needs to have bidirectional midi and the plugin has to send midi messages for each step. Not sure Battalion does this, but I can try it later. I usually sequence from a hardware sequencer (Battalion works well with an Analog Rytm as sequencer) and use a midi controller just for the performative controls.

It’s just too many controls trying to map every single parameter, even if you have a massive controller or tons of pages on a controller with rotary encoders.

One thing i noticed on 1.0.7 on windows is when i open saved project with Locked parameters, this lock icon is darker red, and if i decide to change preset it removes all locked parameters. Especially when routing channels to individual audio tracks
Is this normal behavior?
Can someone else confirm this?
Wish that i don’t have to always re lock everything each time
Kinda defeat the purpose of having saved preset for future use

Same complaint I have on the Rytm, no EQ-Filter on the sample itself, it would have been so nice… otherwise, you have to prepare your sample so it layered the way you want (sonically) at least i came up with this conclusion. Synth + Sample is very nice. Especially when you use some transients (from Kick2, Metrum etc…) or some dirt & layers from GoldBaby but it sound so good because it’s prepared to be layered before. An EQ/Filter could have solved that for rapid layering but better sounding. (as well as some sort of phase tools)

Okay, worked it out that you need to swipe to control the modulation amount. Good to do one’s learning in public.

Been using this on my Mac for a while, and it’s a beast, but have got to say that having just downloaded the iPad version, I’m using it in a much more natural way that is producing much better instant results.
It’s amazing what a touch interface does for the exact same piece of software.
Insta-buy for me when it gets the official release.
Massive well done to the devs.:raised_hands:

Same here! I tried the demo on my Mac, when it was first released, but while I loved the sounds, the workflow did not gel with me with a mouse. But on the iPad it is perfect - and I haven’t managed to crash the beta at all yet - so really looking forward to the final release too.

Will preset sharing be possible between ios version and windows/macos?
Would love to get some sketches/ideas on my ipad, and transfer them to my daw at some point

No bugs for me yet too!

I can’t wait until the iOS port is done so we can finally get some patterns and or midi drag and drop!

Is anyone sequencing from an external sequencer on iOS? It doesn’t seem to respond to velocity in the same way that it does if your sequencing inside the app. It would be great to have access to those sequencer lanes externally somehow or to have them decoupled from note sequencing so you can sequence notes externally but still use those lanes to sequence other things like pitch etc

Yes, this please  Sequencing it with Playbeat, and indeed would be great if automation lanes would still work somehow.

What’s a realistic timeline for patterns and/or MIDI drag and drop? I need this in my life

Soooo, not anytime soon then

I was away on Spring Break. We just released a big bug fix update for the iOS beta. After the iOS version is launched, our roadmap is to add patterns, MIDI Out, and a new randomization page (similar to the performance page).

Cool. Sorry to be petulant. Just really looking forward to using these features.

Is dragging MIDI patterns out available on the main desktop version? Need to update - mile behind

I hope this will be part of the “patterns” update

Any eta on iOS sample import ? Thx.

It will be in this week’s beta.

Awesome, thanks !

Who’s using a controller with battalion, how are you using it live and what have been your most usefull mapped commands ? I’m still not sur sure about how to map it…
