That’s the Super Gemini I think
I recently brought my UDO Super 6 Desktop out of hiding and paired it up with my Boss Reverb RV-6. I then recorded a short performance, posted below. What I remembered was that, just like with the Syntakt, I’m usually happy with the patch I manage to create after just a minute of tinkering, even when I really have no plan in mind or know what I’m doing (which is good, since more often than not, I don’t).
From UDO
Whilst we still have no plans to make a Super 6 mk2 with Poly aftertouch we do have something exciting in the works for existing Super 6 owners. Announcement at Superbooth, stay tuned!
I think they will announce the poly aftertouch keybed retrofit kit for the Super 6.
I think it is just a firmware update
I hope so… As much as I love this synth, it has its moments.
Folks in their forums have been asking for a new firmware for over a year at this point. And for retrofitting a keyboard…are they outsourcing that or do I have to send my 49 key monster to the UK and back lol
If that were the case, I don’t think the staff account would have replied out of the blue to this thread
On that same forum they say:
I would like to do a “fit at home” kit we could sell. We would supply tools and instructions, no soldering or anything, just bolt in parts and cable
Thanks for looking that up. If they get around to actually releasing it I’ll check it out
There’s an old thread here about uncoupling the voice pairs on the super 6 to achieve multitimbrality. But that never happened.
I’m hoping that’s what the Superbooth news is, but I doubt it
A cheap AFFORDABLE sound module … ?
Minus cheap and affordable.
Yeah, maybe something new? I’m trying to work out if those lights are from the Super 6, or Gemini… it doesn’t look like the silhouette of the desktop.
I doubt anything new. They seem to have their hands full with the Gemini and the Super 6 firmware atm. One of the devs said that they are aligning the firmware for the S6 closer to the Gemini so I’m hoping that means more frequent updates and possibly some love from the Gemini side. Either way the Super 6 is amazing. Tighter Midi sync and a few other bugs squashed and I’ll be happy.
OK, so I connected a quantum computer to all the AI tools known to man and the result that came back was that this is a Super Gemini chassis where you can transfer your Super 6 internals to.
That way you get the polyafter-touch keybed and almost one half of a Super Gemini.
Can’t wait
It was pathetic me trying to work out what those lights were last night.
Looks like a portable version.
Don’t feel bad you had me doing it too going back and forth!
Yeah possibly Gemini Desktop although it’s hard to tell. LEDs don’t seem match up with the S6 version. Looking forward to mix modulation!
