Sound like there’s a firmware update coming June 3rd, not sure if this is just for the keyboard upgrade

“We may at some point down the line give an allowance upgrade to 20 voices.” It ships with 16 voices.

Thanks! I know they’re a small company but I don’t think they’ve sent an email to their userbase about it yet. They’ve been busy indeed!

Damn I stand corrected. Just got my email announcing the Super 8. I’m really surprised they released yet another product. Looks like it’s going to be around $3700 though. Super 6 firmware update June 3rd.

Mix as mod destination finally

Yeah, that’s because it seems practically to be the same as the Gemini, minus 4 voices, the ribbon and the redundant knob/slider/button interface.

Right. I guess that squashes any hope for a multitimbral mode on the 6. Would put them really close in terms of capability for the price point.

As simple as this sounds on paper, I’m actually pretty excited about the possibilities here. I use key tracking / x-fade to mix all the time. It’s pretty good with arps and sequenced notes.

Also a quick tip that I don’t see anyone mentioning often is that the sequencer records pitch bend data per step. You can reduce the pitch to oscillator and then map it to the filter to get some step based filter cutoff mod. Bend plus or minus is also available as a source.

They’re certainly hitting the Juno 6/60 aesthetics even harder on the Super 8 with that ventilation on the to panel.

New firmware is supposed to fix all the issues with MIDI.
After all the wait, it feels a bit like the last chance to get this finally done.

Especially with that limited edition Black one in the SonicState video, very much on the nose re. Jup6

Hazel’s video is a great showcase… it really does sound awesome. Slightly rounder than the Super 6 to my ears. Cool update.

Loving Hazel’s work in that video. Lovely sounds!

The Super 8 feature-set is the keyboard synth I’ve always wanted
The appearance is a little less nice than Super 6, with the blank space.

The Super 6 is still interesting because of the smaller footprint, and the poly aftertouch upgrade fixes the major complaint - and also reduces my interest in the (lovely) module, which was partly to pair with a more expressive keybed.

I still think Super 6 is the best looking synth. Gemini is very busy but those duplicated controls are a sound design powerhouse. The Super 8 looks cleaner and nicer, definitely looks the most ‘vintage’ looking out of all the UDO synths.

I love my blue Super 6, definitely one of the lovliest instruments I own. Seriously considering the poly AT upgrade too, would love to try the keyboard myself in advance of course and know the firmware is capable of detecting which keyboard you have and sorting the mod matrix routings seamlessly…
