What makes it so good, in your opinion? It certainly looks nice.

I’m trailing it out now and tbh it’s great! Like find myself having to restrain from constantly pushing random as I feel I get lost pretty quick. I’m loving the 3 sample layering approach, especially being able to modulate the layer balance for each step.

The samples they included are really nice. Think next step is to import my own packs and start really making it individual to my sound.

The export functionality is also very good, being able to export individual instruments to audio or midi is fantastic.

Defo gonna buy this. Was kinda waiting for ableton 12 with all its new midi feature for making drum patterns but I’m really digging this workflow.

Just had a very quick play - as someone who owns the Kontakt version I really, really appreciate how much snappier this feels to use in general. Apparently there’s a similar Revolution Native version in the works which I’m really looking forward to for similar reasons.

Oh wow, this would be great. Revolution is one of only a couple of Kontakt instruments I’ve ever bought but I never really use them because I dislike using Kontakt that much.

Purchased this years ago but never used it due to also hating the whole Kontakt hosting.

Just fired it up with Bitwig and played with some presets and its very nice. Just need to figure out multi outs and will save as a template to noodle on this coming week.

I think it could be pretty good for top loops, but i didnt see any synth engine? And the samples did not show as key detected? With that it could ultimatly more useful, but as a random generator, intrestiing, the motion sequencer was a bit clunky, why use it insread of abelton macros, or racks, where i modulate the played device with a selector.

With synth engines, ok, but as sample player a bit boring.

My money is still on Microtonic as the best if you’re looking for synth drums.

I’m still hoping for Synplant 2s sound matching functionality to make an appearance in Microtonic, it’d be such a good fit!

Yeah, I feel like Kontakt is a bit of a necessary evil as I rely on it for so many libraries but it’s not a lot of fun to work with! Revolution had always felt sluggish to use, so I feel like a native version would make it much more inviting to explore.

Here’s an early Revolution Native screenshot from a thread on KVR:

Edit: forgot to add that apparently you can import Drumvolution into Triaz Native, haven’t tried it yet myself but I intend to.

Yeah, I saw that - 42 new drum machines supposedly being added too! Sounds like it’ll be well worth the paid upgrade.

I guess the RX11 can be added to the list safely enough.

Its a powerful; drum shaper (3 drum samples blended each with filters etc) with a lot of content (15 000 samples from one of the best drum sample providers…) and a really powerful but easy to use sequencer and good fx. WA are drum specialists and its great to see someone who is all about drums make a Native drum instrument/sequencer, Their drum samples in other formats (I have revolution and drumvolution for Live) are really some of the best available…so put that in a great interface and it’s a win-win!

I am certain this will also get a lot of love moving fromward (they are already talking about a lot of other things they will add) as it is really their main products for selling their drum packs (all tagged ands ready to use)

Posted this on another thread:
I’ve had this for a long time on the Kontakt platform but I just never got on well with Kontakt, so rarely used it.
I just DL’d this standalone version and it’s very good indeed. It’s definitely up there amongst the best drum machine plugins I’ve used - and I’ve pretty much used/got them all.
Highly recommended!

I picked it up! Just curious though… at the end of the segmanet, he talks of how he wished it would read the drive for samples instead of importing them into another folder…

I have 300gb of samples… lets say Half are drums… no good… BUT.

This makes it kinda okay… its a way to keep XO and Atlus in the mix…

p.s.

Im also into it because of the sequences it offers.

I love these kind of things, because I can use them to program a Syntakt or TR8S… just transpose everything, then start wiggling parameters… (no such thing as cheating in music or art)

Yea - this thing’s pretty awesome. I’m actually using it to learn to program my own drum patterns by seeing how they make there’s. Plus that XY things means no two drums will sound the same.

Good stuff!

Hmm… its cool… i like it… not too different from XO, but more control…

But i am trying it out, and in logic, with host sync activated, i am not getting the first step firing… it starts on the second…

with host sync off, it fires how it should, on the one.

Not sure what I need to do, but I contacted them, and ill see what they say and post here what they say, just in case anyone else comes across this.

UPDATE:
They got back to me, and they are looking into it…

Also hotfix 1.0.1 is incoming, and this should be addressed for that… along with other bugs.

Mine doesn’t start on step1 all the time either in bitwig. Hotfix would be sweet.

Seriously though, this drum machine is insane for what it is. No it’s not a synthesizer, but I don’t really need that. The ability to layer drums and morph between them is crazy. Honestly I may not even import my own samples in because the WA ones are top notch. Plus the FX are super good. I love starting with a crispy clean drum sample and degrading it, and Triaz can do all of that. I used to record samples through my Akais950 or pocket operator but this saves me those steps.

There is something to be said for making a beat and thinking “I need a cowbell” or whatever, and typing that in to get instant results without having to wade through sample folders. Just speeds up the process.

Also if I was to import samples one day, I’d probably want to normalize them or do some process to match them to the WA samples level. If any of you figure out a workflow for that, please share.

But honestly, the WA drums are great for about any genre. You just have to process them to get the aesthetic you want, but they give you that capability in the plugin. Plus the master FX are dope too. Crazy.

Thats what im thinking… and if there is something I absolutly need to use, You can just drag and drop into the channel you want… and thats any one shots…

Plus, I got Sononym and XO and Atlas… so I can do all the searching there, and just pick select non WA one shots…

Im liking WA… they even are refunding me 30% because i found the educational discount after the fact. Most dont honor the educational discount if its in intro sales.

Also, I told the guy about this, since I had an Email chain already going.

Excellent. I remember they delayed the release of this for quite a while. I forgot about it until a few days ago. The vst release was a very pleasant surprise.
