Tonverk Feature Requests

For this to work, there would need to be a way to tell the machine that a pattern is not empty even though it does not contain any triggers. It could be a toggle switch somewhere I guess.

Can you get the buttons to light up if you just place down a lock trig without any parameter locks? It could be a simple workaround.

funny, I did not think of a workaround like that, it should work

usually, in programming a kind of “dirty” bit indicates there is non-default data. this ought to be the case on a pattern that has non-default data set, e.g. an fx loaded/configured that’s different to what’s loaded if a new project is created

Some more UI/UX wishes:

  • A4-style memory banks for browsing presets
  • Top directory menu item in the File browser
  • When browsing files and returning to previous directory, the selector moves to highlight the next directory. I find this unintuitive, especially whenever I accidentally exit a directory and try to access it again.
  • Option to disable the top screen popups or to move them to another location on the screen. Except for volume, which should always pop up in the same place, because it is absolutely crucial information for the health of the user and any connected equipment, and because you cannot estimate it in any tactile or visual manner since the volume knob is a rotary encoder.

it is non-deterministic tho. that’s something I wished there was a setting for, e.g. if its level is fully cranked up. there is still randomness involved in whether and when that happens.

I actually created a project for trying exactly that last night: plock’ing a trig using this fx to make a sound stutter at a certain interval but it didn’t work. I did not consider posting a feature request but since more people seem to be interested:

Deterministic Freeze/Stutter on Degrader FX

The Degrader FX should have a maximum/100% setting that should guarantee the FX to trigger.

I am all about happy accidents, recording them and working with those but for intentional sound design, this could be really helpful

Ah I didn’t realise that!

…TV will become only a fully grown up sonic adult in any room and is worth a pricetag beyond a grant for real, ONCE it offers ALL dtakt2 track engine inventions, too…once it has learned to timestretch audio ot style…once it covers single cycle wave juggeling into wavetable scanning AND once it offers a dedicated granular scrubb through the clouds track machine…
not to mention a RETRO comb filter, since all these latest swedish takes on combfiltering can’t catch up anywhere near to the magic musical smear of their old and very first take on that…

before that did not happen, it’s nothing but a nice to have elektron box because it’s a elektron box that worx in THAT famous traditional way ALL elektron boxes do anyways…

and for this release, dear new elektron dev team, u better hurry up a little for further fw updates…
if those improvements don’t join tv’s sonic cake pretty soon, this box won’t see the usual swedish hype last for too long…

it’s the bigger and pricier machine, so don’t u worry about covering most of dtakts skills with this, too…dt2 will continue to find it’s custumers…
plus a little further less distance to the ot…
it’s pretty much a marketing MUST DO…

It obviously needs a Tonverb reverb

Subtracks poly ? don’t think so , they should be monophonic , the track (parent one ) is then de facto multi timbrale .

F…k still getting to decide if i keep the digitakt II (way more mature but limited) versus this (answers a lot of my digitakt II request but seems unfished as usual , 6 months again before overbridge ?)

There’s no info or mention of Overbridge pending like there was for Digitakt II/Digitone II. I wouldn’t assume that it is planned for Tonverk under the current lack of official statement.

Individual Subtracks can be poly (so its sample isn’t cut off with the next note message), but the setting that controls this (‘Reuse Voices’) is enabled by default, so behaves as mono unless you change the setting.

Thanks. I wasn’t sure if it was intentional or not.

would be great to have a copy function also for the names, maby when you rename something. Like in the old Elektron Boxes.

would also be great if not all FX are on full Wet Sugnal, some are some not. Please do them all on Dry. Sometimes it make noises and loud sonds if you change a fx while a sound is playing.

+1 for Multisample Edit
+1 for Chord Mode like Digitone 2

After some time spent with mine, here is my list so far:

  • Trig Preview
  • Page loop (like on Rytm) because 256 steps are a lot to wait for
  • Presets for Buses/Sends (to avoid having to reprogram them if there are combinations I go to often)
  • Gain Reduction meter in the compressor. I miss it a lot from my DN2 :smiling_face_with_tear:
  • Ability to build multisample patches from the in without MIDI
  • Step Recording (REC + STOP)
  • A way to quickly clear all Subtrack sequences on a track: Edit, it’s POSSIBLE! Elektron Support responded to my feature request saying you can clear all subtracks using FUNC+Play (so, Clear basically) while in Step Edit mode. It does work, and indeed does not clear the other main tracks, just the 8 subtracks on the currently focused supertrack.
Found out it's already in

** Previews for multisamples (even if it’s just one sample) *
** Previews for Subtracks (even though I*
understand the need to load the samples first makes it somewhat impossible)

I get previews for these by playing the keyboard while browsing! I’m not sure the multisamples sound quite 1:1 but it’s close enough

Being able to save some FX chains as Presets.
