Bus routing as a modulation destination.
Sample slot as modulation destination
Timestretch
FX per subtrack
Pickup machine with recording trigs

It would be nice if the shaper machine on busses could have a side chain source set to a track so it could easily duck to a kick without having to make changes to the sequencer to match the kick every time. Even better if you could choose a whole subtrack set so if you have multiple kick tracks on one subtrack you can have it react to them all properly. Of course compression ducking is an option but the shaper works very nicely!

I mentioned envelope followers a few months ago with would be a more flexibility version of this for any track or buss.

Pickup machine is the dream.

But a kinda related thing I was gonna write a request for, but never posted I don’t think. A ‘pickup’/‘loop’ approach just to the sequencer, and this goes for all similar sequencers like keysteps etc.

So maybe this is a super niche use-case but we’ll see I guess. A way to use a ‘live loop’ style method but on the sequencer.

I.e. I hit record, start playing a riff or whatever, it’s recording in the notes - but I am often not sure how long it’s gonna be until I start playing and I change my mind during the recording. With these devices I have to have pre set the page/step count if I want it to be two bars, 4 bars, 8 bars etc. Fine in a studio situation but as a live performer with who enjoys improv - I’m quickly improvising something and decide to go around again and tweak something, or jam a long thing for 32+ bars and not sure when it’s gonna end yet.

I’ve come from the Ableton clip recording world where that’s exactly what I would do. Once I know I’m ready to end the loop I hit the clip again and it ends at the end of that bar and loops around. Would be lovely to do that on Tonverk.

I don’t own one but am aware of the function on OT but I understand that’s sampling audio rather than on the sequencer. I’m talking about while you’re in the already built in live record mode.

100% this - if I’m playing a sound live I will always underestimate how many pages I will need to record it as a sequence, having it just add pages until I’m done would be great

It seems obvious to say but I don’t think Elektron have ever marketed anything as an all in one device. They’re offering more of an ecosystem of devices, if that. Or maybe a pick and choose the thing you will find most useful. TBH I think 3 samplers is too many and my beloved Tonverk ought to have been pushed into full on Octatrack 2 territory, but I think you’re a bit comparing apples and oranges there mate, sorry.

I think you’re mistaking what I’m saying.

I’m not asking for tonverk to be an mpc. But slice and timestretch omissions at this price point is absolutely ridiculous when you look at what the mpc one gen 2 is packing in at nearly half the price. It’s silly as I mentioned.

Glad I’m not the only one, I always underestimate how many pages I need. Even if you could set it to a massive page count but hit something to cut it off when recording.

It is a bit surprising, not playing single samples chromatically is another. But it has other talents that make it a keeper.

Please add:
Possibility to toggle [Pattern] mode.

(Identical to [Mute] mode, which stays in view after un-/muting.)

Hello Verkers,

I don’t know if it me stoopid or if this is not implemented but there’s three features I would love to find/have in the box:

• “Duplicate Pattern” with/without sequence/plocks/kits/presets/intruments/FX/Busses.
• “Copy Pattern” from a project to an other
• “Switch FX” lots of time in experimenting with FX chain would be QoL to simple switch FX1 to FX2 vice-versa.

cheers.

It is also obvious and natural to me to see a looper workflow for this machine, seeing that it is not a slicer and timestrrech sampler but can record up to 6 minutes .
A looper related to the sequencer would be logical .
When the settings for lenght and stuff are ready , the Tonverk could automatically put a trig a chosen track and play the recording immediately after stopping it .

This way could push the Tonverk in a better performance machine , where it is in this field actually less efficient than the other elektron devices .

There’s obviously so many nice to haves in here, but seriously just give me the preset/instruments as browsable by tag asap please.
It’s obviously coming because why else would I be able to tag them when creating/saving them, but I’m just getting so tried of scrolling down a massive list over and over. I’m already loving how quick I can perform and the versatility the machine but I could absolutely fly when performing/jamming once browsing by tag comes in.

Routing is already available in fx lfos destinations.

Me neither : 48 files are generated from loaded wavetable !
Eventually add a possibility to assign a recording directly to a Wavefinder track, which is already feasible after a few steps.

Please remove Octatrack, until an MPC has 8 recorders tracks with direct buffer playback / mangling / resampling with feedback, and morphing of 250 parameters with crossfader and 16 scenes…
Really doubt it can cover Digitone 1 abilities, not even talking about Digitone 2.

That’s why I said paired down octatrack. But let’s not pretend like live 3 doesn’t have xy customizable performance effects with morphing and punch in fx.

And uh… Have you seen the opx4 synth on mpc? And oscillator updates? It definitely can handle FM synthesis…

I love digitone and octatrack. No need to deny the mountain of stuff Akai has packed into mpc OS. Look at all the effects and synth plugins

you post a lot about the mpc for a tonverk thread, maybe go to the mpc thread.

vid scheduled for tomorrow, maybe an update drop.

Lmao the ever hopeful Wednesday update crew… X to doubt…

I wasn’t bringing it up dude, at this point other people keep replying to my initial comment, I made one point when it was relevant. Not sure why everyone is acting so salty?

The original post was literally about a feature request for tonverk due to glaring omissions relative to other product that just dropped. So yes it was topical. It’s other people debating it

Thank you
