oh right, it could also work the other way around! that would be even better!
Still struggling to make sense/use of the modifiers.
Modifiers 1 and 2 are sort of okay the way they are, but it would be cool if at least modifiers 3 and 4 worked more likes scenes in Octatrack, but without the crossfader. Imagine they were more like temporary p-locks, that could modify multiple parameters at once. Itās sort of lame that you can only target one parameter at a time with each modifier.
I would love the following from the DTII:
- Queued mutes. Hold āFUNCā and select the tracks to be MUTED/UNMUTED. Perform action upon release.
- When in āMUTE MODEā, pressing the āRecordā key enters āTRACK RECORDā mode. I like this behavior on the DTII as I donāt have to hit āFUNC+BANKā to exit āMUTE MODEā first before entering into āTRACK RECORDā mode.
- Using arrow keys to navigate sub-menus.
Spending more time using a midi keyboard with Syntakt and Opsix got me thinking:
I really wish Syntakt could pass modwheel movements along!
Unless Iām missing something.
I can send modwheel to the Syntakt all day from a Launchkey.
I can use the modwheel direct on my Opsix.
I can send the Syntaktās MIDI track modwheel to Opsix.
I can not seem to send the Launchkeyās modwheel to the Opsix through the Syntakt via MIDI out port.
really appreciate the last update by the way!
Hoooooo⦠Iām still trying some stuff on the MIDI channelās assignable values, but I havenāt figured it out yet. Maybe something between that and/or changing the CC message sent from the controller?
Not sure.
Reading the above old news gives me a little hope though!
I know this is already requested but syntakt needs kits. I just recieved a digitone 2 and kits are a game changer for me.
More destinations for trig modifiers. Destination in fx track for example.
The ability to setup and send midi message with trig modifers.
Do we have to make wishes for STII at this point?
I wish for 8 analog tracks and 8 digital tracks with voice sharing, like Digitone II.
And of course all the other goodness both MKII machines haveā¦
A wish is a wish and sometimes a wish is a dream as wellā¦
New Syntakt - getting startet Video on Youtube. Why if there will be a new one?
A and tomorrow is wednesday. Maybe⦠I clould really use machines and a comb filter
Iāve been playing around with the Chord machine a lot recently and I would really like to have a āmulti modeā on the ST, meaning, Iād love to be able to assign (at least) 8 different sounds (in my case chord configurations) to the upper row of trig buttons to play and record them to one track with sound locks.
itās definitely a weird move to make an introductory āletās get startedā tutorial for a three-year-old device
especially when
a) there have been newer releases with expanded functionality in the same format
b) there are already many thoroughly-detailed tutorials on said device that have existed for years
it seems like a push to get the remaining syntakts off the shelves and i have never been more convinced that a st2 is just around the corner
That sounds worrying⦠I already said Iād sell my ST if STII drops soon, and will just go back to my big box trinity. The previous SOP of Elektron where a MKII replaced a MKI at least allowed new OS updates on both units, but with the digi IIās this is no longer the case, making them worse when it comes to 1st gen units⦠Its not ideal
I think ill sell my Syntakt, if anyone wants it⦠and wait a bit to see what happens. Maybe treat myself with a Digitone II or something, i dont know.
I don“t know. a few more machines that offer more complex sounds and those comb filters would make Syntakt an absolute powerhouse. If they really abandon the thing this short, they would piss of so many people and and loose trust they build up for so long.
8 digital, 8 analog tracks.
polyphonic (ala digitone 2).
128 steps.
compressor.
the new filters etc.
kinda thing.
could be possible.
White spiders.
Do you think they could cram 4 more analogue voices inside a digi enclosure, and still maintain a decent OB2 performance?
I have no idea. I just come up with this sh1t on the spot.
It would be unprecedented to make an Mk2 so quickly, but anythingās possible I guess. They did technically give Syntakt the new machines they promised, even if they were just the rytm machines, and DT and DN 2 look like much bigger sellers right now still⦠even Rytm looks like a better seller despite its age and price.
I can see an Syntakt Mk2 with all the goods, but really I imagine we see Tonverk then an Analog Rytm MK3. And maybe Syntakt does get another update sometime down the line. Until then it sits there in the range as the digi with analog machines on it.
while the digitone shares dna with the a4 (increasingly so with the wavetone machine on the 2), the syntakt somewhat builds and borrows from the rytm
i think some of the defining features of st2 might be some sort of performance/scene implementation and a much-needed development of the trig modifiers
if elektron ever decides to appease the masses and give dt2 the ability to slice, detect zero crossings, and properly timestretch- then i wouldnāt be surprised if st2 featured a simple one-shot sampler machine as well (the seed has already been planted with pcm samples on fm drum)
