Just saying, 64 steps playing at the 1/2 rate in page setup plays for the duration of 128 steps. Sometimes you don’t need 128 step resolution for your 8 bars
Having step-per-page would be my #1 request for the sequencer… for longer odd time patterns.
Would be cool to assign/activate parameter locks directly to/by the FILL-button, i.e. assign with [PAGE] + [Encoder], activate just with [PAGE ] - could be something like a small scale control all.
Would be aslo a great way to implement a performace oriented manipulation of the master effect settings, especially for breaks and live performance.
While playing in Song mode, a way to (temporary) infinite-loop a pattern (or song step) despite of its configured amount of play times.

I’ve been trying to parameter lock a bunch of stuff per step on a midi track, and it would be so much better if I could hold a step and press something to preview what that particular step sounds like instead of spinning the carousel and waiting for the note to cycle around again. Seems like a massive oversite, either by me not knowing a shortcut, or in the basic sequencer functionality.
hold the trig down and press “yes”
this was updated a few firmwares back in case you’re on an old one…
I love you

a dedicated live mode, where pressing a trig, channel button or midi channel would not trigger an audio signal at all, but simply select the channel, and stopping playback would be prevented by a confirmation prompt. all changes to sounds and samples would be non-destructive to the last saved state, so changing the sound with control-all would have no lasting effect.
This state could be indicated by the play button flashing red.
I’d LOVE an extra LFO or two that enables me to control global delay and reverb parameters.
With this feature, I could probably get rid of my lovely delay and reverb pedals
- support for a single stereo track
- slide for trigs
- tuner
- editing possibilities for the results of the slice machine, at least start / end.
- for next Hardware-> Battery powered
-
Slightly fade in and out automatically when cutting samples to prevent clicking?
-
Would stereo sampling even be possible on Digitakt? possibly asking too much.
-
Internal resampling with automatic start recording when pressing the “play” button. (I have no idea if this has been possible for a long time and I missed how it works)
it was mentioned here:
so i think one stereo channel even if in slightly lower audio quality would be really nice.
What about keeping the Page LEDs as they are but using a different colour for the trigs?
For instance, red (as now) for the first 16 steps which changes to say, blue for the second 16 steps before the Page LED advances.
I think it would be nice to improve the MIDI side of digitakt, as the user generalkustard (post #4610) proposed MIDI retrigger, an optional MIDI thru-out would be nice, and as user gH propose (post #4609), a note transposition for midi track (or even optional per track for de sample and MIDI tracks) would be even a dream come true, as user gH, I bought the digitakt mainly for the MIDI section, but at the end, I fell in love with the sample tracks too, now Digitakt is a indispensable instrument in my setup, make MIDI tracks better would be incredible for using it with my other MIDI gear.
+1 for automatic start of sampling when you press play.
