Just finished Frog Round today.

This is an old meolody with an uncertain origin, and I always thought it was sweet. It was a fun project to sequence it into my Syntakt.

Hey Nils , where’s the Album ? don’t tell me ya didn’t released some … !!!

Ordered a Digitakt II as i type , but i already regret it lol when i jumped on my syntakt … just to remember why i left maschine (which is great for some stuff) to get immediacy of the Synth based production instead of managing samples …

Wonder if ordering the digitakt II wasn’t going back to square A …

This belongs in an underwater or underground level in a platformer game. Well done

Amazing tunes with this setup. Curious to see how you recorded the track and placed in Ableton? Audio wave file from a multi track recorder? Cheers

I’m sorry, I can’t get my shit together  But thank you for the faith!

I’ve hardly used a Digitakt in my life, but the little I’ve used it it feels much like a synth in the way you can transform and deploy samples. But you’ll be better off asking someone else for advice there. Congrats on your purchase though

Small question guyz , let’s say we use the keyboard , and want a certain note to be placed on a trig , can we do it that way : from piano roll to trig , or we must go to trig menu on the trig and change note ?

Hey Zo, if you’re on the Syntakt only, you can input notes from the Syntakt keyboard function in real time or in step time. You can’t use the keyboard mode to input notes in grid mode.

If however you have an external midi keyboard connected, entering notes in grid mode is easy and super convenient. Just hold a trig and enter the note.

But Zo - just a friendly reminder that you gotta start asking your questions in relevant threads. This is the Syntakt sounds thread you know

More importantly though - I’m waiting for your participation in the Syntakt Science Labs… When’s it gonna be? :sunglasses:

I really like how it pairs with Ableton Move and minifreak, imo they sit together well with each other in a mix.

Thks Nils , this is hat i understood , yep i do think with kleyboard it’s the way to use those syntakt and digitone.

Thks fpr the reminder on the topic , my bad …
Not in house actually , moving a lot … so it’s tuff for me to post and record stuff …
But i can still post , i experimented some today that madce me smile and say to myself : boy people are slipping on the syntakt lol

I find minifreak sounding kinda hollow when using fx , nope ? (based of the plugin here)

External fx always trump onboard ones. For many synths, I almost always prefer using them dry and adding separate fx. They are mainly there for getting a patch idea down, you can then recreate em better with other fx after tracking

I haven’t tried the plugin yet to be honest. On the hardware I find the trick is to use the multiband comp, EQ, or distortion or some combination thereof when making patches. It makes them sound much more forward and dominant. To the point where I don’t make any patches without using at least the comp or distortion because it sounds kind of weedy without them.

If you’re comparing it to something like syntakt or Digitakt it definitely sounds less prominent if that makes sense, or more washed out. Even compared to the microfreak the sound seems less defined. Hard to explain. Something about the hardware reminds me of how some older vst’s used to sounds. And the elektron reverb and delay definitely sound better imo. But regardless it seems to sit well in a mix with syntakt to my ears.

I still love the thing though, it’s so versatile for such a simple architecture. Everything from chill pads to gnarly bassdrums is easy to achieve with it

OT, but i could not get along with the comp and use something external for this (but my guess its my fault not the device, if you work on it and know the thing inside out its possible to get great sounds out of it only using the MF itself).
But everything else especially EQ Bitcrush Distortion and so on can be a crucial thing for sound design cause you can modulate it.
