That Syntakt Sound

Cool song!
How did you make the “dong” sound that starts at 0:18? I really like it

Thanks! I used SY Chord set to Unisonx3, wave nr 124, a fair bit of detune, and short decay on amp and filter envelope. I also added an audio rate sine wave LFO set to pan, to create some spaciousness and extra harmonics. Finally lots of reverb with a very short tail.

Let me know if you want a syx file of the sound, I can post it here

That’s very kind of you.
I haven’t a syntakt atm, I’m saving for the Digitone 2 and thinking ahead at how to recreat that sound! :slightly_smiling_face:

Edit: typo, DT Is for digitakt, not for digitone…

 that’s the thing why many find the ST sound all the same. They don’t hunt for new ways to shape the tone more.

Great approach here to step outside the box!

(I do this too for width btw.)

Syntakting hard:

All leads go to the modulated delay group.

Drums group 1 go to auto-filtered FX group.

Drums group 2 and Commodore machine go straight to mixer.

Unapologetic 90’s techno. All sounds from the Syntakt and run through Analog Heat. I have been so impressed with the range of sounds this synth can make:

Got the Syntakt out on a whim today and actually recorded something for once (added compression in post). Still on the chopping block for me, but it sure is a fun box.

This is like a rage against the machine song for when a TV show doesn’t want to pay the usage rights, so they change one note or play the progression backwards to avoid infringement.

Very good work! Really love the tracks you did, the jpop one was also very nice, you show its potential.

I really want to dissect the project file for this one, great stuff!

You have tô parameter lock the fx track delay settings, using very short delay times and cranking the feedback.

Feed delay and reverb back into fx track for a feedback loop.

Crank fx drive to 11.

I went down the sentimental route and did a Röyksopp-inspired track.
Single take Syntakt as per usual.

Exploring Sy Chord with some heavy drum sounds. All sounds from SY Chord.
We should bring back the single machine science labs
