You have tô parameter lock the fx track delay settings, using very short delay times and cranking the feedback.
Feed delay and reverb back into fx track for a feedback loop.
Crank fx drive to 11.

Tropical Syntakto.
I went down the sentimental route and did a Röyksopp-inspired track.
Single take Syntakt as per usual.
Exploring Sy Chord with some heavy drum sounds. All sounds from SY Chord.
We should bring back the single machine science labs
Here I am listening to this for the third time in full, still finding it hard to believe that this is all Syntakt. Never would I have thought that it’s capable of doing those Vocoder-y percussion sounds. Jawdroppingly fantastic.
Thanks for the kind words!
I can share the syx file here if you’re interested. Those vocoder-like sounds are SY chord machines filtered with resonant high pass. They’re modulated with very fast random LFO to pitch. I find the SY chord lends itself nicely to noise modulation since it’s rich in harmonics.
Edit: From 2:11 and on I guess the vocoder-like effect is even more pronounced, as most tracks are going through the FX track, which provides a phasing effect.
That’s awfully kind of you! Thank you for the explanation. After hearing the track, I succeeded getting some interesting hats out of the SY Chord (+ some audio-rate modulation on pan for good measure) — not something I’d have thought to try before. Will try your suggestions and see if I get close.
Great stuff! Have fun exploring
I’m totally stunned by this. It sounds really amazing, all the sounds blend in together so nicely and the rhythm flows with such an excellent groove with so many small nicely done details. Hats, shakers, toms, snares, industrial sounds, it’s all there.
And then you tell me it’s all done with only SY Chord .
Let me put of my for you and show my respect
.
(Edit: Those drum sounds are very convincing. What a great idea to use SY Chord for these, as real drums also have a lot of tuned overtones )
i do this all the time with SY Chord…adds so much grit
Thanks so much, you’re too kind
This is really excellent, you and @UserFriendly are wonderful examples of how powerful the Syntakt can be. I had little interest in the unit after being convinced that it was naturally limited, but you guys have (unfortunately) piqued my interest!
Yep, this is gorgeous and inspiring.
wow how did you make that beautiful mellotron sound?
Thanks
The Mellotron-like sound is a fairly straightforward Sy Swarm. A little noise modulation for that breathy character, some tremolo (sine LFO to volume) for that flute-effect, and a little vibrato.
New Liveset/EP, Keep It Tight: 135bpm, garage, house, afropop, electro, synthwave, all the donks and toms, etc.
Here’s Syntakt living up to all the fantasies I’d had for it, all the grooves I could fit into 8 patterns, 86 song rows… Video with notes on the side about setup etc. Stereo out, light compression/eq/volume adjustment in post, rock on Elektronauts
Your mastery of the Syntakt is impressive. You make it feel so free, and I love all the tricks you have come up with. I’m still trying to man up to test midi loopback Oh, and very nice music. Love the loose, groovy vibe
Hey, thanks so much for the kind words!
I find it’s such a consistently fun and rewarding machine, and the latest machines added to it are among the best.
I released this song today. I play a lot of tenor recorder on it but all other sounds (except vocals) are Syntakt.
