I’ll shill for it every year. It’s been worth every penny.
What do you like about it? My trial ran out forever ago and I can’t try it again.
Not on sale, but I just bought this and if you use older MIDI synths with Ableton, its’ a lot cheaper than buying one of those MIDI solutions boxes
Mariana is even cheaper at Thomann, at $34:
Akai has got a bunch on sale.
Damn good prices too…

Pigments 79€ at Thomann.
Worth it if I have Current? Not really gelling with that one, it feels more like a sales both than a synth 🤷
60% discount, i really had problems with percussion, it sounds great, lots of variation possible. I wish adsr would be more obvious, but the sound is top, and that is what count.
Does Sononym work with longer samples? My demo period was used up a few years ago as well. I bought XO by xln last year and realized that is not what I need at all. I would really like a sample browser that I can go through all my recordings and tag and organize them (right now I am using Resonic Pro for browsing my audio files, but it doesn’t have tagging and doesn’t work on my Mac).
Edit: Also, it doesn’t seem that Sononym is on sale till the 29th, Just saving a few people a little time.
Did you have the first one (random)
I enjoyed it initially but then bounced off it — wonder if this has a bit more variety …. Havnt been impressed by the edm sound demos , but then one of their reviews suggests that it was the software machinedrum they had been waiting for
I don’t know Current but I love Pigments and definitely have never felt like it’s aiming to sell me DLC. I rarely use presets with it in general, most common use is to drop in a sample and go from there.
Super powerful without being overwhelming imho. And an absolute bargain for what you get, it feels like it should be pegged closer to the price of Omnisphere / UVI Falcon.
one of my fav plugin manufacturers. $19 for their plugins is an absolute steal! I’m using Poltergate on a noisy TR-77 right now and it’s doing the job that other plugins that cost way more can’t do. highly recommend Perfect Room, God Mode, and Dragon Fire.
I really like Fuse Audio stuff…
this is one of my fave compressors ever. it’s on sale for $15
Pigments has, in my opinion, the perfect balance for how it handles DLC. It has a nicely integrated storefront inside the plug-in, complete with instant demos you can noodle with on MIDI – but it’s never shoved in your face and you always have to explicitly navigate to that tab to see anything other than the synth.
I can vouch for their (similarly discounted) VCL-4. No fuss, great sounding limiter.
Same. I love it. The new update has batch renaming… WHICH I NEED… on the sp404, sometimes the sample name will get cut off, so I want to put key and bpm in the front… Im curious if I can get that done thru Sononym.
Bjørn rocks.
Yes! definitely. Has tagging and everything. Long sample playback, which is good because I bought Infinate Sample before they went subscription, and they have some long swells you can browse with Sononym
I’ve been using Pigments regularly since V.1, and keep it updated.
TIL it has a storefront tab I’ve never seen? Whoa.
Danger! That storefront is dangerous. Worse than NI and the expansions… so much money, but the sounds are super dope…
Is samples software?
AJ Hall has breaks for $10 per pack, and he just lost his studio in the hurricane.
Because Paragon Kits is 40% off everything.
Decap Drums that KNock has a 50% sale on everything including drum packs and Knock Clipper
Any views on if Sonible’s smart pack of EQ, limiter, and compressor are worth it? I’ve also seen Sonnox Claro is cheap albeit with fewer automated features.
No, i just got the percussion synth, its where i spend a lot of time searching for samples, i.e layering, processing, but with metal, it was hittimg random a few times, and then going with some variations of the sound i got. Otherwise i would have to generate these variations with abeltons sampler. Doable but i feel its a time saver. (not perfect but good.) (With samples i generally saturate, pitch mod in various modes, make sample chains etc.)
Currently considering Sonible and may pick up the trial, so can only speak as a potential buyer. I’ve bounced a bit between iZotope, Fabfilter and stock stuff over the last year or so. When I’ve heard people talk about the “get out of jail” aspect of automated mixing, it’s actually Sonible, not iZotope who come up the most. The compressor and limiter are fairly well regarded as transparent and good quality from everything I’ve seen and heard, ad the GUI’s look useful and well thought out. The thing about this bundle that seems good value to me is how you could do the vast majority mix and master tasks with them. iZotope has the AI/machine learning stuff, but it’s split across Ozone and Neutron for mastering and mixing, (but you get a lot more stuff within those 2 plugins.) And I’ve heard that a lot of folks don’t even use the AI stuff anyway, which is why you’d want this stuff. Feels like this covers all the machine learning basis in the main plugins where it’s needed.
Currently those 3 plugins combined are less than either Ozone Standard or a single Fabfilter plugin. I hear they update each one every couple of years for a paid upgrade. EQ4 is new, Smart Comp2 and Smart Limit are 2 years old. So this could well be the blowout before a newer bundle is released, and upgrades are around $€£29 per plugin. If nothing else, I can imagine these would be a good learning tool if it helps you then set your own levels and controls in non AI plugins. Certainly one to trial while the sales are ongoing.
