Moog Mariana is on sale for $39 (down from $99). I’m tempted but I also have a Minitaur so it would be solely based on me being lazy and not pluggin in the MT…

John Melas has a BF sale for his Montage/modx+ tools :

https://www.jmelas.gr/montage/index.php

I have it on the iPad and I must say it’s “fine”, but I don’t love it.

I wanted it to be a replacement for Diva as nothing scratches that itch for me that’s available on iPad, but it hasn’t blown me away.

that helps the GAS
I recently bought Sub Factory for my MPC and that seems fine enough for software bass.
I really should be using the Minitaur anyway so I’m gonna pass on it.

One thing I would say in favor of the Mariana is that it does exhibit Mooginess in a way that can be a bit more distinctive than other plugin synths. Seekers of that flavour will enjoy it. It has been an appropriate substitute for my Minitaur I feel.

I’ve managed to avoid buying anything during the November sales, so I might treat myself to Bloom. I was impressed when I demo’d it, and I’m sure I’d use it a ton.

I have Tupe, Vulf Compressor, MegaVerb, and Lossy.

Very good plugins. MegaVerb is a lofi emulation of older late 80s and early 90s reverb units like the Midiverb. It has a built in bit crusher for the reverb, gate, and the pre-delay can be synced to time step increments rather than just milliseconds. Great sounding reverb with great tools that other reverbs tend to not have.

Tupe is a great Tape and Tube saturation plugin. It’s my go to a lot of time to warm things up. And Vulf Compressor is a might compressor for drums but really anything. Side note: if you own Vulf Compressor they are making a new Mastering version of the Compressor and selling it currently for $70 or $75 and it looks like it’s going to be full price at $200.

But yeah, their plugins are designed to be automated with their slider interfaces and and smoothly everything interpolates between values. Very fun plugins with simple and clean interfaces and they sound very good.

Same here. It really does wonders even on it’s default setting. I already can’t mix without the Dave Pensado ‘Harsh Synth’ preset on Soothe, so I’m thinking this is going to be another one that’s going to be time saver. Sometimes you just want to make music and not have to search for some frequency to wrangle.

Yeah, Bloom has been on my radar. I’m on the demo right now, but only used a few times cause I’ve been busy. I’m also thinking I don’t want to get too attached to it cause it’s expensive. I also don’t want to get addicted to it cause it sounds good…

Anybody else got some experience with it? Is it worth it? Or is it a tad over hyped?

Its a great Oeksound plugin. Essentially, like Soothe, if you put it on everything, it’s probably not going to sound great. But if you put it on some busses, it can sound fantastic. Does a really great job on the master buss as well.

I think if you’re interested in Bloom it might be worth examining Gulfoss as well. I’m not going to say they do the same thing, but for me they are similar enough in terms of where and how I used them and I already own Gulfoss so I don’t feel a need to get Bloom.

Thomann has discounts on Waldorf’s very verrrry good Microwave 1 plugin at $86, which is less than Waldorf’s own BF discounted price.

Likewise, Thomann’s price on Synapse Audio’s OB-6 VST, Obsession at $55 is a better deal than the developer’s sale.
