Goodhertz sale just started: Purchasing | Goodhertz, Inc.
Aberrant DSP’s sale just started and good deals are to be had in the bundles: Plugins - Aberrant DSP
Nice, looks great! Any recommendations of cheap things you can buy to get it? Bonus points if they’re actually useful themselves
Weirdly, this is one of those times when the plugin is on sale as well, so it’s actually very cheap as it is. So there’s that to consider. But to get it for “free” an easy win is to find a sample pack. I got a £5 foley sample pack once to grab a free plugin. Above that spend you almost might as well just buy it.
Same price at plug-in boutique.
Also AIR Drum Synth is free with any purchase
The Newfangled Elevate Bundle is currently 89€. Not sure about it, i have Ozone, which i use after Fabfilter L2, and Ozone really improves the sound quiete a bit. Anyone using elevate on techno tracks ? Is it worth it, or should i go for soothe2?
Too many softwares. Not enough monies. Not enough times. Already got too many “deals”. I’m going to throw away my internet as a preventative measure.
Sonic Academy sale is live
Just grabbed Kick 2
Thinking of grabbing Lossy. Do you have any other Goodhertz favorites?
Elevate is my first call for limiting duties, I only go to other limiters if I cannot make Elevate sound good, and I can about 90% of the time. Even if you don’t like the limiter, you get a 26-band transient shaper, which by itself has brought more than one master to life for me. I think it’s only not more popular because it does work fairly differently to other limiters (and looks intimidating with all those parameters) and you have to learn this one to get the most out of it.
My tips on using Elevate
My usage instructions for Elevate are to initialize it with only limiter gain and output ceiling - no variable gain or release settings, no transient shaping, no drive. I push it too far, until I’m getting as loud as I want - this will sound bad. Now, start adding the variable gain reduction until it negatively affects the balance of your track (I find anywhere from 3-6 db). Then, introduce the variable release control to clean up the limiter the rest of the way. Things should sound much better now. Add transient shaping to taste. If you find you’re getting plosives on the kick or too much on the higher percussion elements, then you can add the per band transient shaping (I try to keep both around 30% or less, though you may end up going further if needed). Then for drive I like to keep it around 90% on the shape, and push it another .5- 2.0 db depending on the track and loudness target.
And, if anywhere along the way the tonal balance of your track gets thrown off, you can go into that part of the limiter and manually control how it reacts to different frequency bands - it’s not uncommon for me to need to go into the limiter gain page and lower it by a few tenths in some of the lower frequency bands. You can also edit the transient shaper in this way for more creative effects.
The tremolo is great. Tremcontrol. Wowcontrol is good too. They’re doing a preorder for the DC19 Delay. It looks interesting with the right amount of things to make me want yet another delay.
Lossy is great. I like it a lot. Oh, the Loudness plug in is free for now
Half price atm (34,5€)
I really liked the demo’s for Vulf, but I’ve got almost all of the UA stuff, so I’m wondering if I’ve got something already and simply haven’t used it in the wrong/right way:)
I also listened to TremControl and agree it’s a winner. I don’t know why I’m so unimpressed by most plugin trems, but most lack “vibe” for lack of a better word. The one I constantly keep coming back to is the Soundtoys Trem. It feels really good and you can massage it into a very human feel pretty easily. I got the same impression from TremControl.
Just another recommendation for Twangstrom. It’s a great spring emulation and for this price a no-brainer.
Kush sale is on
Noise Engineering are running 15% off all their Software and Hardware using code TUBULAR at checkout. At least get Basimilus Iteritas if you can. Awesome percussion synth that provides great sample fodder (especially the kicks) for your Octa/Rytm/Digitakt etc.

Do you have a top 5? I’ve always admired their products from afar, but I’ve never dived in. I watched a UBK-1 demo and really liked what it did for movement and the control it offers without being too overly technical and fiddly.
Do they tend to update plugins over time or do they release and then just keep them functioning without improvements/performance enhancements?
The ones I own are Silika, Electra and Omega 458A.
If I could only keep one I’d keep Electra eq. It is really nice sounding and has a specific character to it, where you can crank it without it sounding bad. (still might not sound great but you know what i mean!)
I like the others too. Not use on every project, I think they have a character to them and you can maybe see where you want to use them and not.
I have been looking at Novatron compressor for a while but haven’t gotten it yet.
From what I understand they are working on getting the plugins working on new apple systems, and sometimes the plugins get a update, performance fix. But not a lot of small upates. This company i dont mind having newsletter, all they do is tell about sales, updates and new plugins every now and then.
