Strymon NightSky Pedal

Which reminds me - them pedals, they don’t really make them for guitar players anymore, do they?

All right, I’ll quit now. Thank you. You’ve been a great audience. I was planning on being here all week but no one’s buying tickets so I guess not.

Overall I really like how it sounds and its creative potential. ¯\(ツ)

Yeah, I know that guy. Usually knows what he’s talking about. Damn good looking fella too. Like Bradley Cooper handsome, kind of.

Masquerades about pretending to be a child’s forehead though…

They have a very unique and recognizable sound signature, yes digital
It paints everything you put thru with it’s character, specially when you’re overdosing the mix-knob beyond 12ocl…

I was on a hunt for the TC m3000 … but after all, the plug-ins are nowadays way ahead

I thought the El Capistan sounded pretty good. Granted it’s just virtual spring reverb to go with the virtual tape echo. Don’t own it but have several local muso friends who have gigged with it.

No arguing with that. Eloquent and sound.

Plug ins are more versatile, and that’s why I sold my hardware fx in the end, but I still prefer real hardware fx on hardware instruments.

Off topic, but I started this thread a while back. And I still feel the same.

An example with more synthy sounds:

That account is also well worth following if you love wavy tape based vingnettes

This video inspires me, at least, to try some ideas on Zoia and H9. Warning: it’s yet another guitar video

This isn’t something that I’d buy, but I do like the interface and updated inputs/outputs on the back panel.

I am a bit surprised that Strymon went all in on the shimmer thing. I think shimmer reverb will soon go out of style like heavy gated reverb did in the 90’s.

One can only hope.

with all the sequencers we are using it should be an easy task to sequence the BigSky parameters with CC automation and earn different or even more complex sound scapes!

now iam lusting for the Mobius :face_with_head_bandage:

Yep, they make them for guitar youtubers… and my biggest gripe with those guys is they never, ever, ever tweak the pedals while they play. How am I meant to know if the cheap and nasty delay pedal can get all glitched out tweaking the delay time when there’s a 20 second silence between each riff whilst they dial in new settings??

You are probably right, but I might have a plan with the nightsky sequencing and my lyra-8…

Well, I pulled the trigger and ordered it today…
