Sonicware Lofi-12 XT

Yeah, I bet all those wealthy Digtakt owners are laughing their asses off at these Sonicware peasants!

Correct, but I chop roughly, and never experienced clicks. It’s either I’m lucky, because my chops have a bit of silence between them, either they apply micro fades.

I canceled my DT II preorder. Had 3 DTs in the past, and I love it, but even if I made it run on batteries, I want a small portable machine that I can carry around. DT is not that

Also, I’m gonna wait and see if they add manual slicing and polyphony. Although for the latter I doubt it.

mad, the xt is tiny compared to the others

hmm, in comparison the screen doesnt look as tiny as i thought

Yeah its pretty much a handheld, the screen is about the size of a watchface.

Compared to the Liven version aside from the obvious plusses, there are a few downsides - mainly to do with performance/tweakability. I hooe that they might consider making the Liven usable as a control surface for the XT, data exchange between the two would be nice too.

giz some acid demos. I wanna se what this li’l yoke can do :sunglasses:

This is such a beautiful instrument, and looks so portable
Im sure this will be a hit.

The Thomann page lists:

  • 9 Master Effects (Reverb, Room, Arena, Plate, Tunnel, Infinity, Cassette Tape Simulator, Vinyl Simulator, Remix)

Is this maybe copied from the Smpltrek info? Or could some of the above maybe show up in a future update?

Yes, or maybe the Liven, only currently compressor or filter on master.

Ordered one directly from their EU website sonicware.eu. They said stock arrives today, to be shipped tomorrow.
Very responsive people and sensibly cheaper than on Thomann!
Hope it’s not a scam :joy:

One question about the track mutes. Are they track volume mutes or track midi mutes? Hoping for the first

Volume mutes unfortunately.

Ive got a few quick questions.

How flexible is the slice mode? What I’m wondering specifically is, can you copy a slice to two pads with different pitches? Or would that be something that you would have to do with parameter locks?

Also, can you use more than one sample for that? So if I’ve recorded three samples from a record, can I set up slices from all three sampled on the pads? Or would I need to record them as one sample?

Nah, each track has several play modes.
For slicing, you set the play mode to: SLICE.
And the sample available for slicing is the default for that track. so you’d have to concat them.
Also, reg. duplication, I remember I tried and it didn’t work. And I guess you can’t put slice points next to each other either, since the end of one slice is the start of another.

I personally prefer volume mutes, thanks for letting me know

I’d probably take the 3 samples from the record, assign each to a track, set up pitch and slices as you need, then resample it and assign to another track, then unload the 3 samples to free up the slots.

Hopefully in the future they might add kit functionality like the Smpltrek has, which would save all this tomfoolery.

The definition of Kit in Lofi 12 xt is a chain of drum hits, with slices saved into the file via Func + OK
