The LED one in particular made me happy.
Yeah, it’s too bad. A sampler that can record in multiple sample rates, do Elektron style parameter locking, with like a basic version of MPC style drum programs would be my ideal sampler. Still, this is pretty close.
Be assured that this (like every other sonicware instrument) will evolved and be updated fairly regularly. Sonicware is not the kind of company that comes out with a new product and never updates it. If enough people start interacting with them about specific features like the kits (especially since these are already on the sampletrek) I am pretty sure they will consider it and eventually implement .
Do the 12 and 12 XT sound different to your ears? Different effects aside
Not that I have noticed, I have not directly compared them yet though as I have been sidetracked using the Liven version for the past few days. I have not delved deep with the XT yet. Early days but I think overall for the hands on side I actually prefer the Liven, but the XT is probably better for producing, which I think is how Sonicware see it too.
One area I am keen to explore is if there is much/any difference with the filters and fx, I really love the sound of the Liven fx and filters, so I hope the XT has the same character.
It’s hard to tell from the few videos that are up, a lot of the demos seem too busy and dense to get a really idea.
But yes, the filters and (generally) the sonics of the Liven Lofi-12 are great. I really hope they nailed this with the XT. It will be a dealbreaker in fact!
To be fair a good many things wanted by SmplTrk owners were evolved in the firmware…while others were put in the LofiXT is which basically the same hardware but an entirely different product.
So I would be careful not to set up expectations so high as to what you may get in the future. .
They may still happen to some extent based on Sonicware messaging. They said more updates are coming to the SmplTrek
I have yet to see one product not regularly/semi regularly updated from Sonicware. It is safe to say the lofi-12 XT (based on the most popular liven may I say) will have a long life of updates ahead of it (kinda like the DT1 really), its going to be a classic.
A lot of chatter in here…
The elektron overlords are gonna hear us!! Us peasants need to keep it down or learn our place on these forms…
Well at current price-point this is a very good alternative to DT1 if you want polyphony, manual slicing and more portability. And Elektron does not sell the DT1 anymore
Never felt prouder to be a peasant! Mine should arrive this coming week hopefully.
Aside from the fact that it’s nothing like the Digitakt, sure. It shares a lot more in common with other popular samplers IMO.
You really should check the features and UI/UX before saying such thing. Start with the screen and its color, or the number of tracks and LFOs…
I know all about both, not sure what the color of the screen has to do with it lol. They are both awesome but not really very much alike. If you wanted a Digitakt, the Sonicware won’t scratch that itch. Great in its own way and even more capable in certain ways than DT1.
You’re not sure what this
has to do with this
? ok lmao
They are both different shades of yellow-green? What does this have to do with functionality? This is just a superficial similarity, and not even really that similar. They are obviously both samplers with filters etc but are different in their focus and capabilities.
Im sure both of them having exactly 64 MB of ram, 8 audio tracks, 2 LFOs per track, retrig options, sampling and resampling, Elektron style p-locking, scales and a yellow screen (and Im probably forgetting a lot of other features ) is pure coincidence
Sure, there are similarities no doubt but the Digitakt is a more complex machine in general, and the Lofi has features the DT doesn’t have as well. I’m just saying one is not a replacement for the other. They are both excellent
?
?
Its in the message buddy.
