no swing per track?
While I like the SWEEP-function alot, I think it was more useful, if the original pitch was reached after the SWEEP is completed.
Currently, the sound starts at original pitch and is detuned by the SWEEP. This makes it impossible to keep tune.
Am I missing the point here?
Hehe. Did the same on my 707. Made it green.
Can you please come over and mod all of my screens orange? So calming, my favorite color too. Looks aces.
Its a fun machine…Well laid out UI…Loads of features and sounds great …Had it for a day - so far so good!
this looks fun.
how are sonicware reputed for fw development post release on their other machines? user feedback, communication, feature promises/request implementation?
XT seems solid from the start but i’d love to see those pressure sensitive pads put towards a more performative use (ctrl all, or macro performance control stuff including the fx)
also can see no live sampling/resampling but could that be a feature in future? i guess the mixtape is kind of this if its easy to grab short recordings and immediately throw into a projects sample bank.
agree with others that optional inclusion of external inputs into the mixtape recording is a must! (maybe ext in monitor OFF/ON/ON+MT)
I wouldn’t ever buy anything expecting features, but Sonicware is very good at software support. They just updated their first Liven. And the SmplTrek is on version 3 of the firmware. Lots of fun and useful new features.
That keith haring sticker is
did you make that with your printer?
Nah…Ordered off RedBubble
So how are you guys comparing this to the og sampletrek?
Danke Danke but was looking for more opinions than specs😁
Smpltrek is better in some ways, XT better in others, they do compliment each other well, in my case.
XT is better for production in terms of fx and pattern based jams, Smpltrek is great for capturing those for further arranging, using loops (upto 128 bars).
My wishlist -
A quicker way to pitch samples. The D Pad (up/down) could be in semi tones (like the SP1200) …Maybe holding function and up/down on D Pad?
A 33 to 45 pitch option. The S2400 had this feature. This would be useful for resampling a sound and then pitching it back down to 33 later. A nice way to get lofi sounding samples.
A shortcut button to quickly access keys up one octave. Then release that button to return to previous octave
Chord memory. Quite an old school feature but still useful for transposing chord shapes.
Quick save
More reverb options. A dark spring reverb would be amazing.
Delay presets (ping pong etc)
This Lofi-12 XT is a focused portable sampler. if you looked at the MPC Live and thought it was too much and too big and you want a standalone sampler to carry around, and you don’t mind more limited production capabilities and value more on the fly capture, Lofi-12 XT will be a device you’d shortlist.
The SmplTrek was a very poorly positioned and explained device. They called it a “portable production studio” or something which made no sense to many people. It is a portable groovebox/sequencer that happens to have sampling functionality but can also do other stuff like function as a rompler and multitrack recorder with full length tracks and several other things. It’s got limited range and quality of effects, so I wouldn’t go overboard with the expectations on complete production in a box.
I’m looking seriously at this, undecided between this or te ko 133 or just bite bullet for digitakt 2
My TE KO is gathering dust since getting the Lofi-12XT…Its not a case of ‘new box syndrome’ either…I just click with it better. The digit screen on the KO can be cryptic, its buggy and very limited. I mean we’re talking 64mb vs 32gb on the 12XT. Plus you have all the P Locks, LFOs, 8 tracks, resampling (albeit via its tape option) and has wayyyyyy better midi configuration. I wouldnt even compare the two tbh. The KO will always be 4 track (its designed for that), will always have 64mb (or no SD card).
As for the Digitakt 2 - the XT has polyphony and the Digi does not, again game over for me.
I have come across one bug so far and thats already fixed for next FW. I have a very small wishlist of features but hardly deal breakers. The screen is no smaller than the S2400 or Deluge and its good enough (and useful)
Essentially the Lofi-12 XT is very capable/complete at v001 - practically everything works within the well designed UI…And that avoids adding stuff a year (or several in Deluge case) with a disjointed workflow with all these extra bits shafted in.
The Lofi 12 XT will always be less desireable against these flashy units with your commissioned Cuckoo’s, Ricky Tinez’ filming shiny content…but thats totally fine, i love an underdog.
When the XT receives midi clock does it send an analog synced pulse automatically?
And vice versa, does an analog pulse in translate to midi clock out?
Did you get a confirmation from them about being fixed in the next version? Did they also mention when the next version is out? I’m super curious what’s on the pipeline
