Sonicware Lofi-12 XT

I think 32gb, which is included.

Seems pretty deep, can p-lock any parameter in the sound menu buttons. AFAICT

Not sure if there is a lock limit. You can sound lock any of the loaded sounds on any step on any track, you can load upto 256 sounds per project.

Currently not as far as I can tell, it does have a step view where you hold function and press a step to view its attributes. It’s strange that the Liven has step preview but the XT doesn’t, maybe it will come in an update.

And just to be clear a “sound” consists of a sample and all the saved parameters of the envelopes and lfo destinations and such?

Ah, no settings are per track, you lock the samples rather than sounds in that sense. Of course you can change filter, envelope etc per step too.

FYI There is a pretty good Discord community https://discord.gg/BjAPDUk5

“On the XT, not yet unfortunately. It’s something we asked for during the sound design process so it’s on a list of potential feature for future updates”

I asked in Discord, and Chris Lody responded. I will say Sonicware updates their devices a lot, and they do listen to feedback.

Hi guys, I noticed a bug when changing the name of a converted file. Basically all samples disappear and only the file structure remains.
I converted all kinds of samples within specific files, all good. Been using them in a project etc. Then decided to change the batch name to something a bit more descriptive and boom, all samples are gone.
Within projects the names remain but the waveform is gone.
I reported it via Sonicware’s insta account but is there a more official way of doing things?
Thanks

Did you update the audio file database, if not try that.

Hello, thanks for this but I’m not sure what this means?

P59 in manual

I sent them a suggestion regarding that database. Although it’s useful for tag browsing, I mainly browse folders.

It would be lovely for BROWSE to just … browse without indexing. Like if I add a new folder of 1000 samples… it would take forever to index.

And If I really wanna use tags (rarely)… I can index.

Or even better. MacOs has a thing where if you append .noindex at the end of a folder it skips indexing it (I think).

Yeah I’m not a fan of tags either, especially since for some of them I’ll never use, there is a search for no tags, but I prefer browse too.

Thanks!

Same here, I go straight to browse.

So this thing is multi trimbal?

So i could use it with an external sequencer like an OXI One and sequence multiple tracks at the same time (as it has different midi channels for diff tracks)? ?

Yeah you could do that.

Just got a weird one.

I added new samples, converted them, updated the database (thanks @darenager) and all good I can find them and play them…

However, samples in my current project have now gone.

I checked the manual around database related queries but I can’t find what th issue is. Anyone can relate? Thanks

Other than that I’m still in the honeymoon period, this machine is awesome

Is it easy enough to resample?

Does it play well with external FX? Eg - play a sample on the Lofi 12 into a space echo and record back (the wet) into it?

Got the Lofi-12 about 24h ago, I really like the sound of it and the easiness to be creative!

But why haven’t Sonicware implemented a “Grid Slice”-function? If you have a loop that is a perfect 1/2/4-bar loop, why can’t I have it sliced in exact 8/16/32 slices?

It’s good you can slice in transients but a real headache if you want to be quick and layer down your beats.
