Playing a vinyl for the first time in 3 years (I now have “the place” for the turntable, yes I know, it’s much better and advised to have access from the top, and to have proper rubber feets, and CD quality is better anyway, and streaming “lossless” too). But it feels good. Also that spot already seems like a big concession from my wife.

TIL that Suzanne Ciani did the sound design for a pinball table, Bally’s Xenon, 1980.
Which is a fun fact, but the real treat is that there is a video segment about it from OMNI in 1980 that contains everything you would hope it would: Ciani at work in her studio, talking about the process and the unique challenge of making sounds for pinball before pinball really had music, behind the scenes at Bally, and a prominently-featured NED Synclavier.
