About ‘the new wave of AI “creators” that are cannibalizing attention and resources away from real creators.’

Dead internet theory?

Every time I hear the TX-81Z, it makes me happy, it might be one of the most pleasing FM sounds to my ears. Thankfully the terrible interface keeps the gas at bay.

There has been a lot of talk about AC units here in the EU and I’m happy it came up. I suffered a little yesterday in 38c (100f) and I had to optimise air flow and which doors were open to even stay awake. Today I downloaded the manual of the AC unit and cleaned it. The filter was completely blocked and reduced the flow many times over and now it’s like a air fountain of relief. Maintain your AC or madness will ensue.

Cool 4 phones performance

This is a talk about the history of video games, but what I wanted to share from it was “the knitting stage of cultural production.” Meaning, the point at which there is no money to be made in creating art, but there is money in selling artmaking tools and lessons. Like how you can’t really making a living hand-knitting things, but you can by selling yarn and knitting lessons

My first instinct is the knitting stage is the norm and the past 50-60 years were an abberation. But maybe that’s too myopic and doomer and there were actually periods in 19th Century London or 17th century Austria where there were loads of working-class artists. Any historians here who can weigh in?

What an AMAZING reverb this is holy shit:

Oranssi Pazuzu are a great band, but they apparently also use an Octatrack live. Truly an instrument for all genres!

Yeah, it’s a great performance. I’ve seen them a couple of times over the years in different guises at Roadburn festival and they’re always great :+1: First time I clocked the OT though
