Too late for that unfortunately - I did jump up and down on the tables and made them promise me they would NEVER EVER use the term Groovebox again on any product and forget D-Beam too ![]()
Quick follow-up: most of the sync discussion here is about MIDI clock (TR-1000 as master or slave). Has anyone tried clocking it through TRG IN instead, from an E-RM Multiclock or another clean clock source?
If so, is it tighter than MIDI clock in your experience, and how do you handle start/stop?
Asking because I spotted this on Gearspace forum : " The other stuff - To cut a long story short, if your setup allows for it, my strong advice is to skip the rest and go straight to using trig clock. Super tight, even the kit+pattern switching is super tight (though obviously there is still no carry over of FX tails etc from the previous pattern). Eeeeven the start stop is nice with the proviso that you need to remember to hit the physical stop, then start, on the unit before starting the DAW again once you stop it, though perhaps there is a way to get it to play nicer in this regard too⦠Certainly at least this should be addressable in an update.
"
Thanks!
Hey, I have already posted this in the Push 3 Thread butā¦
TR1000 works as a class compliant 30 channel usb audio interface on Push 3 Standalone. Apparently there is a Roland generacji driver in the Linux driver that P3SA uses, and it works with TR1000.
All channels work, including sending push 3 audio into individual outs on tr1000 ![]()
Awesome! What is master clock?
Iām throwing this in here since the drums are unprocessed from the TR-1000 and I learned how to use song mode. Itās long and my attempt at doing some doom drones on the MiniFreak and letting my years of listening to Godspeed have its way. All drums sequenced from the TR and tracked straight in to Ableton. Minifreak and SH-4D caught by the 404 MkII for all melodics.
Interesting. Then it should also be possible to send the individual audio channels via Push 3 SA over Link Audio to Ableton Live.
Wouldnāt it be easier to just connect the tr to the computer with live? ![]()
Since when did easy come into it?! There are features to be exploited, godammit!
Iām pasting my dm to @PulsePatternParadigm for others to benefit ![]()
You have to connect them both together, then go into push setup and audio, then first top button to switch to device choosing menu
Then you pick the TR1000 audio interface for input and/or output. I use both for now, as I donāt use any analog connections to my push, and then you need to scroll through the channels and enable them, either in mono or stereo (like on desktop Live). Then you either create an audio track with audio source from tr (this gives you opportunity to process the internal tr audio), or you can set separate channels from push to send into the tr. To send the internal tr track after processing back to tr you need to choose external out 1/2 for mix out or 13/14 for external in, mix out is w/o ext in sidechain and/or internal tr fx processing.
So what this lets you do is:
Send all push 3 audio to tr1000 via usbc.
Send all push 3 audio to 12 mono outs of the tr1000 (10 individual outs + 2 analog outs).
Send all internal tr audio to push to be fxāed and then back to tr (you need to decide if you want to have it with sidechain and external in fx, or not).
Send push 3 audio via indiv outs to external hardware fx, and/or a 5-6 channel analog mixer
(this is nice, but why would you buy an external mixer over a Neuzeit drop
)
Anyway, Iām very happy I can give you guys another happy piece of positive tr news, but to keep the thread pessimistic:
The new keyboard mode sequencer doesnāt send out any midi note information, it takes in chromatic midi notes, but it sends out only 1 note per layer ;( (if anyone was experimenting with this, and succeeded let me know asap!).
Powerful combo!
Yeah I am very afraid this ends my quest for perfecting my setup, and procrastinating making music⦠fuck ![]()
Wow. Gassed me up for a P3SA.
I need to get a referral link for ableton asap ![]()
This is why Iāll never sell either of these machines!
Letting go of every MPC and other samplers, and going all in on Push.
Itās a lot more stable than before and is just one step closer to the DAW. Huge co-sign. Especially knowing youāre a dub techno head!
Itās always better to have less stuff ![]()
How do you trigger alternative sounds on layer tracks?
So some modelled GENs like the 707 clamp-tamb for example, by holding the channel select button you can trigger that alternative sound on the sequencer.
It doesnāt work like this on layer tracks because doing the same alternates between layer A and B instead of alternative sound, so you canāt trigger it. Well, I canāt anyway!
Am I missing something?
Alternate sounds on single layer tracks only, unfortunately.
P22
Inputting alternate sounds (ALT INST)
You can input alternate sounds for the single track RSāRC.
Alternate sounds contain a ā-ā character (example: 707Bass1-2) in their name.
Thanks!
Thatās mildly frustrating but oh well.
Aye it is
