Roland P6 Aira Compact sampler

Yes, exactly. The busses can be controlled while in the settings menu. You can send pads to a bus or the effects but not both.

I’ve got this official one from Roland it feels cheap for 30eur. Inner pocket is a bit loose so my cables are usually all over the place anyways. It does the job well tho but I would go with glide case from analog cases which is same price I believe. I’ve got one only because it was bundled with p6 for less than msrp :ghost:

I reckon you can find similar size non branded cases in china for peanuts.

A couple of questions for the seasoned P6 users!

1 - Can I apply delay/reverb to Bus A or Bus B, so everything assigned to that Bus gets sent to the Delay/Reverb, or is the only way to individually set the send levels for each sound?

2 - Is there a way to enable two effects at the same time, for example Pitch and Filter effects, or can you only apply a single effect at a time?

3 - Is there a way to apply both delay and reverb to the external audio input at the same time?

Thanks!

I think the point of the buses is to take the signal out of the FX chains.

I haven’t found a way to apply two of the master FX at the same time.

I believe incoming signals are routed to the FX if you look at the signal flow in the manual. I could be wrong though because I haven’t tried to do it…

to add on,

  1. individual levels only for the delay and reverb sends
  2. just one MFX at a time, resampling would be the main way to get two or more on one sample
  3. the external input can not be routed to the delay and reverb sends

You set the send levels for each sound.

It’s one effect at a time. However, you can still manipulate the pad filters.

Yes. If the input is routed to Bus A or B, the global effects (Delay/Reverb) should effect the input as well. The global effects will not effect the input if the input is routed through the effects bus.

where do you set Bus A or B’s send levels for the send fx? i havent found that yet

i was just looking at the signal flow chart and the ext in doesnt go through the delay or reverb sends

Thanks, how do you then apply the global FX to the buses?

The busses don’t have send levels. Each pad has a send level and each pad can be sent to Bus A, Bus B or the effects.

The delay and reverb are global effects for the pads.

Also, you’re correct, the input does not get sent through the global effects. It can be routed the effects section.

I was mistaken, I don’t think you can. However, you can route the input through the performance effects.

You’re welcome. This thread is full of gems and cool tunes.

So just to confirm, I can only apply one effect to the external audio input?

Yes… and only as it goes through the performance effects bus.

How do you do fine editing?

Using the Tempo/Value knob in the [Voice] settings gives you fine control in seconds 0.000

Start knob is for coarse values.

I saw that you can record several samples to the same pad. I guess it creates a sample chain when doing this?

Does anyone know if you can add several samples to a pad using the software, or is recording them in the only way?
