Could send P6 to Bluetooth via iPhone. Should would with any usb audio class compliant.
Good call! I hope this works because my adapter hasn’t worked for like a week
sampled some sounds off the mc-101 at a park today and put together this jam. i recorded a passing train with the built in mic but i totally forgot to include it. ill have to save it for another one
I bought a MicroKORG 2 on a whim. Gonna have to do a MK2–P6 team up soon. Serious nostalgia vibes as the 303 was on the shelves back when I picked up my OG MicroKorg. Suddenly feeling like the world might have gotten back on the right track. The nice weather might be helping that feeling. Haha.
downloaded some jungle sample CDs and did some playing around on the p6, i dropped all the files on my mc-101’s SD card so now its acting as my portable storage as well. trying to experiment with genres i dont normally tackle
Granular Synth Info
I just noticed that you can have a different granular synth for each pattern as long as the granular synth pad uses different samples, this is cool. A little while after that I noticed that you cannot copy the granular synth pad the same way you can copy the sample pads (if someone knows how, please enlighten us).
The way around this is to copy the whole pattern to another pattern and then make any pattern changes you need to. This way, the granular synth copies over to the new pattern.
I’m also open to a different way if anyone knows one.
i would really like to hear some microkorg 2 + p6 stuff from you
that thing is HIGH on my wishlist. seems to pack in a lot of innovative and creative features for sound manipulation. that sounds like a really good combo
plus you could route the p-6 through the vocoder, resample that, process microkorg stuff with the granular pad + mfx. lots of power
I’ve actively been thinking this as well! I don’t usually do vocal processing but I bet you could do some really cool stuff to mess with VSS30 style. I tried out the vocal stuff yesterday and it seemed a lot more capable than I was expecting.
Also, I REALLY like the MK2. The YouTubers don’t know what they are talking about on this one.
i bet its great. it seems to have most of what i want in a synth
im not familiar with the vss30 style, but i would be more interested in processing synthesized sounds or samples through the vocoder. spectral processing is a very nice feature in a synth like that. but its true that it has almost auto-tune style functionality like harmonnizing and pitch detection, right?
i’d be so happy to finally find a hardware tool that makes my vocals usable for little choppy vowel one-shots. seems like a very smart purchase to me. i gotta try to grab one myself
Did an improvised session yesterday for Thanksgiving at some friends. I like how the Compact weight nothing… With the S-1, it’s a great combo.
I’m really enjoying sampling with this machine. I’ve been doing more sampling than sample management. It’s so fast and so easy. They really nailed the sampling experience.
Yes - it’s called “PDF Viewer - annotation expert” on the App Store - only need the free version, and there are no annoying ads.
Works brilliantly, even on iPhone in landscape mode…
im really digging the higher bpm stuff the past couple days, feels like a creative shift is in place. made this one on the floor in my apartment, sampled the synths from the mc-101 and chopped some jungle sample cd drum loops.
Thanks! That works! I had downloaded PDF Viewer - annotation expert eons ago but settled on Goodreaader, which is usually fine. Again, thanks for the info!
Just got my P-6, beautiful little box.
Is there a quicker way to set probability per step? Long pressing a single step and then hitting the granular pad 3 (or was it 4) times is VERY labour intensive. Everything else on this device is a breeze, but this has me stumped.
That’s currently the only way.
p-6 only
made this with brandy acapella step-sample chops, a kick and hat from the syntakt, and a super short (End position set to 1) single cycle waveform from a syntakt bass sound i tried to sample but it ended up sounding better when i looped and shortened it. it also sounded CRAZY when i added some audio rate cycling eg but i didnt use that here. then also some things like crushing dry easy mac with a bowl and the sound of me squishing the insides of a pumpkin while wearing latex gloves
just realized i actually didnt use the granular engine for once. crazy
There is master probability.
But, steps having prob = 100 are not afected…
You need to set them to 90 or lower, from what I tested. Then you set master probability to +10 if you want probability 100.
I wish it could be like Elektron Digis…
this is trippy, loving all the organic sounds
Really nice! Reminds me of the old Burial stuff! As @schoolbabyboy said, very organic sounding.
