This is true. Beauty is only skin deep.
Not with the price though (three times more)
No, that beat me up
I still want that…
Fwiw I didn’t know much about the Smpltrack, started reading the SoS review but noped out when I got to “The workflow feels a bit like a hardware version of Ableton Live Lite” at the start of the second paragraph. Just not remotely what I’m looking for in a device like this.
it’s just the cutest little thing!
WOW!!! I have an awesome news!!!
Roland P-6 takes Single Cycle Waveforms to work as a synth!!!
Not all samplers do that, and this - DOES!!!
Go here and grab some to try by yourselves!
Some tutorial how to do that on other samplers:

Me happy mucho!!! )))
and i know that wasn’t even a slight on the M8, wish folks could understand how relatable this sentiment is, and i like trackers but i dfo have dreams of a trackerless M8 sampling beast that is not the sp404
Swapped out the 850mAh battery for this 2500mAh. Had to snip the wires on the original connector and splice in the new wires as it had a different connector. Warranty probably voided I know.
I let it run a factory (1-16) pattern with headphones connected (not listening) for 7 hours straight before the charge light turned red. Better than the specified 3 hours.
Only downside. It’s going to take a lot longer to charge up to full again
.But it does charge no problem.
SP404mk2 looper?
I’m used to the multitrack recorders which I’ve used in past, so EHX 45000 / 95000 or RC-600 / 505 is much preferable to me than SP404 kinda looper… But to each his own, I know…
they say that limitations breed creativity, but isn’t having many choices at your beck and and call and any paralysis that ensues from having so many choices the greatest limitation of all?..
I see one G933 for sale even with more capacity (3600mah).
Is the space inside the box too tight for the new battery?
Interesting review here, for those who still desides to buy or not to buy -
Interesting that people find this thing good looking. I don’t fine the whole aira Line particulary attractive (or good from a UI perspective, but I do appreciate the bang for the buck).
(Comparison points: volcas, model cycles, op-1)
Only that clearly looses against the s-1 in my possession is microkorg.
so since it’s an Aira product does that mean it can be powered by the roland mx-1 mixer?
Roland are all up in a lot of our DNA. There is always plenty of interest in whatever they do, but aside from the price and portability buzz this has a lot of retro future appeal (so hot right now) and some things (eg step loop) they just do so well.
Ah, I think the M:C is good-looking indeed. I love mine.
Volcas and OP-1 I don’t like especially in terms of looks. The P-6 looks more “scientific” and interesting to me than those.
I have been using my TR-6S laying down the last couple of days and it made me realize that the Aira line is so much better suited to using lying down or on the couch. The TR-6S is just a little too big/heavy and the square corners dig into your hand. I also have the S-1 and is light as a feather and feels a lot better in the hands because it’s rounded.
On the other hand, the P6 won’t be great to use at night unless you’ve memorized the buttons because you won’t be able to see the screen printing on the device for the shift combinations.
Design wise the Airas seem pretty utilitarian to me, not exciting. I’ve never put a skin on a device before but could see myself maybe wanting one for the P6 because it’s a bit blah.
