Just out of curiosity I checked the receipts for the DT and DN I bought in 2018, 5500 SEK each, i.e. €517 at the time.

Yep they have (prices) gone up. Only question is whether we will see the old prices ever again or the only way is up up up.
I cant see them selling too many of the current flagships at those prices. may have to mean a change of direction at some point.

No way is it worth that much, especially as it hasn’t been updated in ages. Good luck to them trying to sell it for that price. Unless this is the end of the line for the Analogs and they’re shifting the last batch for give-a-fuck prices?

AR mk2 launched in 2018 or whatever for £1450. I can buy one now on Thomann for £1555 and a fair bit cheaper elsewhere.
Given all that’s going on with inflation, chip shortages, distribution bottlenecks etc. I’d say that’s pretty impressive, especially when you consider that a lot of everyday essentials have doubled in price during the same period, doing far more damage to many billions more people than the cost of a fucking drum machine no-one needs.
Also, there’s loads going second hand for half that price…

I’d say: a synth (any of it…) is pure luxus.
If you can spend 500,- for any luxurious stuff think about how long people in poverty need to work for this (some a lifetime…). And if it costs 1000,- in a year, so what?
Problem is more food, living, water, climate, war, hate, etc. etc.
So please get over it and stop whining about synth prices, its so unneccessary!

dunno ppl… in my country the average monthly net salary is 1k euros but these new prices are still in the best buy category if we compare what other companies are offering. With an elektron box you get a relatively advanced sequencer, multiple voices, good quality hw, support over yrs, overbridge…

It‘s not about supporting a manufactura. It‘s about not supporting Inflation by not buying as long as prices are too high.
