Don’t quote something you didn’t understand fully. With inflation or cost of doing business, prices can go up while demand being held constant. The reverse can also happen but less likely hence my statement. Also don’t say buy then conversely say demand. The opposite of demand is the lack of and the opposite of buy is sell. Buying something also relates to affordability not just demand. Selling also relates to motivating factors not just lack of demand (use).
not anymore! i tried to buy it but apparently it was a mistake
I’ve just noticed an increase price of all the Elektrons. 100$ on all Digis and something similar or maybe more on the Analogs. CAN$
Last week, the Digis were 1349$ and this week they are at 1449$.
Hmm… Trump piles on absurd tariffs while strongly indicating that he aims to choke us into economic submission, and then the price of Swedish boutique music machines takes a significant jump upwards.
Seems like odd timing. Is there tariffs being applied to Elektron goods sold in US and we are getting lumped in with the U.S. consumer cost increase just for being neighbors?
That would be really sad if Elektrons became more expensive in Canada of all countries because of Trump.
How are prices in EU, going up?
just had a quick check, digi’s haven’t changed in thomann eu (yet)
Why would they ? They’re not made in America
Perhaps prices might change if they’re made with American metals / chips but I have no clue.
Eu and China tariffs haven’t changed if u are in Europe . Buying from America has probably gone up .
The $ is much weaker the last few weeks too
Prices in Europe should go down because trading in zones without tarrifs shoud increase.
Many prices are not set due to demand in a territory.
That only really works for things that would be bought instead of things from tarriff affected areas.
Like how many extra Elektrons will be sold in Europe instead of gear from tariff affected areas and will that make up for the sales they lose to the tariff affected areas?
Probably a net negative for their business as a whole, therefore makes price rises across the board more likely than price drops.
I noticed today that the Elektron Digitakt 2 and Digiotne 2 have increased by $100 each here in Canada.
Was $1349 now $1449
Thomann says no…so far anyway.
to be fair, the post was merged into here by moderation …
US prices officially increased today on elektron.se/shop
Digitone II: $1149 (from $999)
Digitakt II: $1149 (from $999)
Syntakt: $1149 (from $1049)
Octatrack MKII: $1799 (from $1599)
Analog Four MKII: $1999 (from $1749)
Analog Rytm MKII: $2299 (from $1899)
Analog Heat +FX: $1299 (from $999)
These prices are absurd.
The more unfortunate news is that some EU prices have increased as well.
Wow, that’s a huge jump! Do we think the increases for the analogs are higher because of more components, meaning more tariffs? Or did they try to keep their bestsellers (digis) as cheap as possible and make people who buy AR/AH pay for that?
If prices were like this when I got into elektron gear I probably would not be on this forum today so either thank your lucky stars or curse your rotten luck, whichever is the more appropriate sentiment.
Me neither. The equation for me with DN1 and DT1 was good price and footprint beating out some reservations about learning the engine and cautious optimism on the sound, based on nice work others had done. At least with those boxes the used prices are still friendly.
Of course Elektron isn’t the only synthmaker pushing up prices to queasy new heights. I bet a lot the companies don’t even want to do this.
